If you can enough about those subtleties of sound to want that better plug-in sound, then you will care enough to get a better soundcard.mridlen wrote:Some cheaper soundcards don't have that option.VariKusBrainZ wrote:But you wont get the same result as setting your soundcard to a higher ssmpling rate

I started working with the 96kHz exclusively because what I found out is that oversampling is not worth it. In the end a plugin can use even more CPU than if run natively at 96kHz, and usually it doesn't sound as good as without oversampling but run at 96khz.
However, I've noticed that the majority of people prefer to work at 44.1 or 48kHz and use oversampling where it counts, regardless. Different people - different tastes.

So is anyone (Kriminal?) working on a GUI for this one? If not I like to propose my services

No. I started, made knobs etc, but there is little point until you know exactly what is needed.
Feel free to do stuff. Didnt get much response here.

That's why I asked, as I've seen your posts here of courseKriminal wrote:crimsonwarlock wrote:So is anyone (Kriminal?) working on a GUI for this one? If not I like to propose my services

I also agree on needing to know where it is going before you can do anything. If I would go for it I would want/need a direct line (email) to the dev to be able to discus stuff while working on it.
I was wondering if the dev had contacted you about this, but obviously not. I think that if he wants anyone (you, me, someone else) to work on a GUI, he needs to 'get in contact'.Kriminal wrote:Feel free to do stuff. Didnt get much response here.
@2DaT: do you want any of us to work with you on this. I don't think the GUI should be an afterthought

OK, in that case I'll leave it at that. He can decide when to go for the GUI stuff and work with you if that pans out.Kriminal wrote:He did speak to me, via PM here, but i think he is concentrating on the dsp sude right now, which is fair enough.

Dont be shy in offering...i offered as i thought he had nearly finushed and it was going to be a small job (limited features) but looks like its going to be s full size effort.
You might have more time than i do too

Well, I'm involved in all kinds of stuff, have several rather large projects of my own going on and am running my own business in the meantime. So I'm not sure I have more time then youKriminal wrote:You might have more time than i do too
Having said that, I like to do some serious GUI stuff for (freeware) projects that seem worth it. If only to give back something to the community that has given me so much. I'm of course currently working on the Ragnarok synth with Björn, but that's getting ahead nicely. I'm thinking of doing a Oatmeal skin and there's always the option of doing a full Reaper theme (that will eat some serious time). But doing a GUI for a new plugin seems the most fun to me.

Working on gui right now. It will be up soon or later. I cant code gui as fast as dsp ,because it was written in c# before (however i remade almost everything in process
)
I think it sounds good right now , quite distinguishable from other synths
