I prefer Melodyne to Nectar. Never personally tried Vielklang.

Vielklang is great for harmonies but the rest is only ok.
Nektar 2 is great with loads of usable presets for enhancing vocals, the production suite offers similar capabilities as Melodyne but doesn't sound quite as good. The de-breather is great and the automatic harmony finder is also very good.
Melodyne is the best when it comes to changing pitch/formant/lengthening/timing vocals or in fact anything. But it doesn't do the same sound mangling that Nektar 2 does.

Check the demos.... Melodyne and Nektar 2 are a great combination.

There is gonna be a CM version of Vielklang, shipping July 15.

Thanks for the heads-up, Num.

Got it today, haven't got round to installing it yet.

I'm thinking it is used mainly for vocal processing, and I'm not really into vocals, but drones...

as far as i've seen the videos of vielklang cm, it seems to be capable of much more than vocals... actually, you could take any mono sound source - be it vocals, a melody from a sampler or even a synth - and turn it into a whole new melodic dimension (i know, sounds kinda awkward, but that's the impression i had). definitely gonna use it a lot, and even consider to buy the full version, given the features are worth the extra money ;) oh, and by the way... NO NAG SCREEN in the cm version, only the very first time you start the plugin! :tu:

Can anyone offer a comparison between Vielklang CM and Melodyne Essentials?

Post

Primarily use Melodyne Essentials for pitch correction (although you can create harmonies) and Vielklang CM for harmonies (although it does pitch correction as well).

Edit: then again, what's the difference between Vielklang CM and Vielklang LE, available for $89 ?
