There is a company in Australia,
who build tele/single coils with ornate headstocks.
Those same tuners were on it-
by Gotoh. I turned them down,
partly coz of the tuners.
I also have a set of strat style Gotohs
that have the same embossing/filigree/pressed shape
as those on the back.
IMO-think twice before switching them,
coz the screw holes might differ,
and then maybe I'm a bit led by branding,
but there is prolly nothing wrong with them.
If you r a bit of a label incliner like me-
ask GRB
Gotoh are quality as far as I understand-
the worm and spur would prolly be beautiful
I wonder what I want in here
-my site is gone and music a mess

They seem stable enough but one feels slightly 'notchy'. Maybe it needs a touch of grease/sewing machine oil/graphite powder.

The GRB website doesn't seem to have been updated for a few years. Jedistar describes them as being 'a high-end custom designer of meticulously crafted guitars located in Madison Wisconsin'.

Not really any other mention of them on the net. I sent the photos to Jedistar as he didn't have any shots of them at all.

Jedistar is run by a dude who lives 35 minutes from my place..I visit his site regularly when I see something I'm interested in.

:)

IMO,
it's a really nice pickup,
no pun was intended.
Collector's item for sure.
I would go for grease if u can get it in there.
Graphite is messy, and sewing machine oil may act like de-greaser,
and not really smooth things.
Just not huge on the colour myself.
I searched to find this quasi tele make,
some shop in Melbourne had several,
but no joy with googling.
Will have a peep at Jedistar's page for more guitar pron
:D

Check out O 'donnell custom guitars in Melbourne. Craig built my 'fireball' . He's started turning out exotic stainless steel instruments I think.
:-)

What's your fav in ur quiver Turello?

omg basically-
Jedistar's homepage looks simplistic and busy-
but thread followers,
drop in to it.
I didn't get as far as the d after the O,
and turned up some cool stuff.

If u want ur fix of fine woods and craftmanship,
bell in there-
Thanks for the lead werp man

The guitars I gravitate to and check out these days are Telecasters, Thinline Telecasters and Rickenbacker 6string two pickup guitars. I think about them and then for the money realize my next guitar is probably a keyboard. My old Yamaha with the Floyd Rose and Jeff Beck Seymours doesn't even get pulled out of the closet anymore. Hmm.

(sigh)

I've been playing way more with cleaner/crunchier sounds lately and even though I still suck, I really am back to wanting a tele :bang:

It's not gas right now and I CANNOT afford it, but do want.

Gotoh's website has the dimensions info for the SD90 series, which is what those will be if they are Gotoh tuners. Americans will need to invest in a metric ruler. ;-)

The company I now work for is a Gotoh agent (just means we get to deal with them directly) so if anyone has any questions about their products I can probably track down answers.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

American rulers are marked with both real measurements and metric.

And such heresy is tolerated!? :-o

I hear fractions of an inch sound better,
but all the gear(including my brain) these days take metric

Every household needs calipers with mm/in/F

What else are you going to do with the other side of the ruler? Putting centimeters and stuff there seems at least as sensible as pokemon pictures.

fractions are analog and metric is digital.

oh, come on, an 8.73mm gotoh post is really 11/32 in. so, i don't see why it would sound any different. :hihi:

I think I've now seen everything at KVR :hihi:

Hey btw, don't knock that inches/metric ruler. It's quite handy for guitar setups since some people say inches and some say metric :D
