Hello,

I am a card carrying pre-newbie :-o on iPad and everything Apple. My music PC has Windows 7 64bit.

Today I bought an Ipad  but will not receive till sometime next week. My mission toady was to buy some Black Friday apps. :D

I find the Apple site very difficult to understand. Perhaps being a PC guy does not help being on an apple site. I spend hours daily on the internet and order hardware and software, so I know it fairly well.

One. I am here http://www.apple.com/itunes/ and want to search for available midi and audio apps for the iPad. How is this done? I never before ever had to ask a forum for this information.

For the record I do have the current itunes on my PC.

I stumbled and ordered two midi/audio apps. It was not easy. Gotta say most other sites are more user friendly. Where were the apps downloaded? I was not asked where to put the download. So where are they and how will get them to the iPad?

I know the answers are going to be simple  but why would one have to ask for help in the first place.

Your help will be greatly appreciated. :help:

Wait until you get the iPad to actually buy and download. Go through App Store after setting up your apple ID. It's very simple---once you have your iPad. No iTunes installed and no iPad, I can imagine I would be confused too. You need iTunes installed at least to download to PC, but I still say wait on it. If the Black Friday deals are that good, then setup apple ID and iTunes on PC then download them now. Transfer to iPad later, but that might not be the least confusing thing either.

I'm a mac user so can't tell you where the files will be hidden by windows but you don't need to know anyway.

When the Ipad arrives you have two choices.

Make sure that when you set the ipad up you use the same applied that you used to make your purchases then

Either plug it into your PC fire up ITunes and sync it or go to the App Store app on the ipad press purchases and then press on the cloud button for each of the apps you have bought.

Welcome to the wonderful world of iPad :)

Just an FYI also. Apps go on sale fairly frequently. You can get an app to watch your apps for you and email automatically when thy drop in price. Very cool way to get a lot of free or discounted apps. Also this forum is pretty good for announcements of sales too.

As others have pointed out, don't worry where the downloads are located. When you sync your new iPad you will be able to check the apps you want installed on the iPad. But if you want to find them, by default the downloads will go in your Music directory in the iTunes directory, or something similar. Somewhere in there will be an applications directory.

As you have found out, the iTunes search is not good. You kind of already need to know what you are looking for when doing a search. Unless the app has 'MIDI' in the title or the developer has added 'MIDI' as a keyword search, you won't get the results you want.

Congratulations on the new iPad. You'll find lots of great apps on the AppStore. Read through some of the old discussions to see what is out there and what you may find useful.
