Another idea might be allowing the player to specify parameters and even ranges for those parameters that they want to be used in a random feature. I don't like conventional random features in other synths, the sound often jumps around too much from one extreme to another.

If I were not moving house and thus facing lots of expenses, I would certainly get Dune 2 now. Glad I waited for that update and did not buy some other synth instead...

Didn't read the whole thread so this may have already been mentioned. It looks like there may eventually be a way of loading user wavetables into Dune 2

Well, that's basically the idea in other words.

But it has nothing to do with randomisation (should have avoided this term). It's in fact 'morphing' but within specified parameters and individual ranges.

Guess everyone who's used to assign the MW knows this situation and the control it gives you over several parameters and the influence on the sound.

Yes I know what you meant. I was speaking of a random feature, though.
Afa the mw is concerned I don't have any synth yet where one could assign various parameters to it at the same time. And if it is only one parameter, I might as well change that knob while playing in order to find the sweet spot.

My bad, sorry. Didn't get it right (or have read to fast).

I usually set up my patch and then set mod wheel to max before adjusting amounts of whatever I want modulated. Works a treat.

Huh? What synth cannot do that?

Seems you are right. Just tried it with two synths and it worked.
I remember I had tried it on some synths a long time ago and when assigned the MW to a second parameter, the first association ceased to exist. That made me think that one control can only be mapped to one parameter at a time. Good to know that is not the case :) Then again, I don't really know what I would use that possibility for...

increasing Reso sometime descreases volume, so you would have MW increase Reso and Vol at the same time, to maintain a steady level....that's one simple use.

You can do a ton of things to add movement to pads etc etc, increase FX params, widen the sound via paning...it endless really.

Wow this is great news! Only a couple days and already a superb wavetable editor that writes our wavetables files. Thanks so much for adding Dune 2 support to it! :D

Not to forget the ability to alter the sound during breaks, choruses, solos or in general to provide some life to your keyboard playing besides AT or VEL... :)

Same here... I've sort of got a grasp on it, I managed to create SOMEthing, but it was all happening way too slowly. I'd like to be able to pick key waves, hit "interpolate", maybe choose between different types of interpolation, then export.
