Do you have any tips to get inspiration and strat working on something new? Any musical tools you've been using? Read the threads about "Music generating softwares", is this anything you've tried out or what do you think about that?

there is a lot of music and inspiration within our selves. so how to get in tune? many people will filter out their personnel and original music thinking it is stupid (compaired to other's).
one can make amazing stuff just working (more or less) on something like a melody, a tone, a sound, an accord ... but there is always some work necessary and courage.
just go the way your music wants you to follow. dare to go to your roots.
all the best

thanks federu.
The whole creation process is about inner satisfaction and being pleased with your work. To accomplish that, you'll need inspiration. The question is how do you find it? what makes you produce ten songs in a day and be happy with it?

maybe start with one not ten first. making ten pieces of music (not necessarily songs) per day needs a lot of experience too. inspiration does not mean mastering the tools, the instruments. but that is off course part of the process. if you can master the tools inspiration can be realized much easier.
there can also be days nothing arises. that is life. try again the next. just play.
sit down with your favourite instrument (a piano, a guitar or even your computer) and get on your daily tune. it is there.
or take something to wake you: a photo, a picture, a story, a person which affects you.
or choose some notes to work with: cafe or dad or head ...

I recently found lots of inspirations on the track I'm working, in fact around 30 gigs of streamed audio of variations of melodies and lots of pads, fx, drums,, etc in key.. So the problem for me know is song structure and thinking critically for choosing the best sounds out of the thousands available. I could always use the samples not used in song for another but at this point I'd easily have an entire album made from one song theme. So now I'm in composing different song takes modes and need a home daw for the arranging process which is a little tedious and slightly daunting at this point... much more so than the 50 hours or so spent actually creating the melodies on different vstis and tediously automating different takes per trck to caputre the best moments which is much more fun and full of inspiration.. This ends my brush on inspiration meets tedious diligence to 'perfection' rant which I think is two sides of same coin, Nothing Comes Easy.. Peace ~Tim
