Some suggestions (sorry for my poor english) :

- a rack component where we can put effects (for easy insert effects) , this component could be cut/copy/past also the effects in the rack;

- in the piano-roll :

* see the note that I play with my MIDI controller ;
* resizable velocity pane in the piano-roll ;
* a +/- button for zooming (when the windows is in the border of the screen, it's difficult to zoom!).

:)

a MIDI/CC transformer object (though it IS possible through the "parameter" menu, an object is crucial for control that isn't VST(i) specific

a MIDI/CC scaler object (NOT min/max, as in parameter menu...a true scaler)

a MIDI/CC filter object (damn, I'd LOVE to filter out aftertouch!)

a user-definible "velocity curve" object - THE HOLY GRAIL of MIDI percussion,
especially when coupled with a MIDI scaler!

perhaps an object that is specific to Program/Patch Changes (so different MIDI inputs can trigger patch changes in different VST(i)s

with a MIDI Transformer and a MIDI Scaler implemented, I'd EASILY have 5 more people jump into the registration boat!...with a Velocity Curve object,
I'd offer my first-born!

cheers

For example, right-clicking on an audio part or track will force eXT to open the open dialog in d:\samples\.
If you press the sequencer's record button, the recorded wave will be saved to d:\samples\record.
If you press the open button, eXT will browse d:\tracks\.
See the hints and tips sticky for a similar thing.

(already suggested, of course, but here goes...)

1. Note audition! Notes are trigged when inserted from computer keyboard as well as when they're transposed. Just like in Cubase, Logic, various trackers... Everywhere else ;).

2. 32-bit VST automation from envelopes in eXT.

3. VST automation forwarding from VST-host through the 128 available, and today unused, automation parameters. Automation could be done in VST-host and then forwarded to a plugin in eXT through an "automation matrix" which has been suggested before.

(4. Tracker interface component. But this is not necessary, just for fun ;D)

If note audition goes in, PLEAAASSSEEE make it optional!!

Its so f**king annoying

But I can see why people would want it :)

Today's 2p worth:

-- in the Sequencer Envelope Part, use Alt-click to insert envelope points (like in the MIDI Part), double click is how it works now.

-- in Sequencer for any Part - use Copy Colour and Paste Colour to colour code parts (I know you can select multiple parts and colour them all the same, but this is another way of doing it, for example, when you add another part later on.

-- everywhere, for all File loads and saves, can a Folders choice exist and can the last folder used be remembered).

-- in the Event List, ability to edit events, and GUI change to make all event visible (perhaps only a problem in some skins?)

Yeah, that doesn't have to be a problem if I'm not completely mistaken ;). A simple menu option should do the trick.

(this has also been requested before, but I thought I'd make the wish list complete :))

A shortkey that bypasses snap while held. This would allow quick, snap-independent length change of notes.

keyboard shortcut to "quantize length" 8)

And there's more

1.in MIDI Part, a ghost can be renamed independently of its original; surely the original and its ghosts should all have the same name (change one, then all change)?

2. in MIDI Part - when you UnGhost a Part it retains the Part name (so you end up with 2 distinct different Parts with the same name); perhaps a suffix, e.g. “UG” should be added to the part name to make it distinct?

3.in MIDI Part - 2 separate different Parts can be given the same name; should uniqueness be enforced here too?

4. in the GUI, can we have GUI items for the horiz/vertical zoom buttons - default and pushed (currently it uses the standard button bmps)?

5. in the GUI, can we have GUI items for the Event List background, font colour and selected colour?

6. in the Sequencer/Envelope Track- can the Envelope Part open up in a pop-up window for editing when you double-click it or select Part > Edit (just as for MIDI Part and Audio Part) - this saves scrolling and zooming in and out)

7. in the Audio Parts, can the pan values be L63 to C to R63 as elsewhere (currently they are -63 -to 0 to 63)?

8. in the pop-up window on the Main screen, can the eXT components be listed in alphabetical order (the VST folders are listed in the order in which there were added to eXT, so that is fine)?

9. in the Main Mixer, implement Power Off for the Sequencer Comp (yes, I really want to sometimes)

10. in the Sequencer, implement Power Off for an Audio Track (for consistency, action same as for mute?)

Phew!

When you Freeze a track it uses the instrument name as the filename, wouldn't it be much better if it used the Patch name - or even both??

Of course I think the bug with the main mixer needs to be fixed before this will work - The main mixer patch-names do not update when you change the patch in the VST window.

What about a way to drag/drop or cut/paste module schemes in the main window? Like if I have an elaborate routing set-up that I wanna combine with another one. It would be really cool to select the modules via click & drag or by cntrl/click & drag them or cut & paste to another running eXT for swiftly building complicated projects.

This can be done in Reaktor's structure window, which maybe explains what I'm suggesting better than I can. Being able to grab multiple object & cut & paste into a new doc is basically what I'm saying.

does this fall into the option to save comp setups ?

it would be neat to ie: load up the midi or seq part with stuff then save that as a comp.

DUH, if it can already be done. :D

being able to export midi and audio parts and import them into the sequencer comp 8)
(exporting already works)

I already posted some of these wishes in the live ideas tread, but after exploring a bit more I found that some of those ideas were already implemented in a different way (), so here are the corrections:

1. midi part:
MUTE or ON and SOLO instead of PLAY for each part, and master transport controls like in the sequencer comp. Transport controls in the main mixer.

2. Something like "live play mode": when you start a sequencer or midi part it starts in sync with the previously played one (after 1 bar or more... it should be configurable), and the previous stops.
It would be similar to "grooveboxes" behaviour, like roland mc303, 505... or yamaha rm1x. When you select the next pattern, the previous stops. Great if you want to play live without any pause, just like a DJ 8).

3. Midi cc mapping for mutes and solos in the mixer and sequencer comp.

4. Sequencer comp:
Being able select a part and having the options pop up simultaneously by right clicking on it, without having to select it previously with the left click.
