New Pink Floyd album coming out, recordings from 20 years ago, including some of Rick Wrights final recordings.

Well, according to the article cited, a lot of the material dates back to post-Waters Floyd, with some being unfinished Wright compositions dating back as far as 1969. Still, it will be interesting to hear. Anything from Gilmour and Wright will be more interesting than 99.99% of what's out there now (to this old fart, at least).

I think the only recording that really applies to is the Wall though, as Waters was gone after The Final Cut at which point Wright was part of the band again (I think).

And Floyd lost their shirt on the Wall tour. Wright, as a hired musician, was the only one to come out ahead. Irony.

Gilmour said of Waters, after Live 8: "He told us that was the last time he was going to roll over for us." So much for 'time heals all wounds.'

I place the Floyd as the best band of the 70's, of course that is just mho. There are a couple of other contenders, but these guys were so far out there and pushing boundaries, whilst still connecting to the masses, that I give the prize to them.

The only good Pink Floyd is where you can't tell what they're singing, like More or Obscured by clouds.
