So if you're having trouble with taking ownership (if I understand correctly) you could try

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/19 ... rtcut.html

(gives rightclick context take ownership functionality)

Works fine for me when I quickly want to take ownership of something without going through the Microsoft menu hoops.

thanks but i see you have to download some REG files where you dont really know how trustworthy they are ;).

EDIT:

i just took ownership of the whole folder with "takeown /f c:\programdata\spectrasonics /r"

then i installed the latest patch again but still nothing changed.... now im really out of ideas....

Memorial Day is a federal holiday. All non-essential Government offices are closed, as are schools, businesses and other organizations.

I've changed all the permissions on the programdata and then the spectrasonics folder inside the programdata folder.

I still have problems trying to save a patch (just load a patch and try to save it as a new name somewhere in your user patches folders).

I can't save a patch to a new patch name from the browser.

Anyone else have this problem?

Post

Oh dear, I have to install a full install.
Thanks anyway to the tech guys at spectrasonics.

Miracles do happen. Took 2 days to download the new v2 omnisphere and reauthorize and it works!
New patch, say as new , - yeeee haaaa!
It is massive. Might need a new harddrive....

did you test both 32bit and 64bit versions? for me only 64bit worked so far...

Ahhaaa - we have found the problem
Version 32bit causes problems - as previously it doesn't save a default patch to new file.
Reaper x64 with omnisphere 64 bit works.

Post

dll hell confusion - the previous version I used - v1.5 with v2 updates, I am sure I was using the x64bit dll file (renamed 32 bit versions tp be invisible) and that caused problems.
They seem to put the dll in 4 places (32/64 in your chosen vst folder and they put the dll in plug-ins folder inside programdata/spectrasonics.
The 64bit works with my limited testing now.
