How do you do it? The sampletank website has a tutorial example that morphs between a vocal sound and a synth lead line. If I want to morph using my modwheel... I'm not too sure what to do in sampletank ... or Sonar for that matter?
Thanks

It's easy. All you have to do is control something with the modhweel. If you want to "morph" a vocal sound (such as the free soprano ah sound given away this month) all you have to do is load that sound. Click on the SYNTH button in the synth-sampler editor section in the middle of the module. It should be in "Stretch" mode and you should see a "harmonics" knob. Okay, now go to the top of the module click "midicntrl" button and then click on the paramter you want to control such as the "harmonics knob". You'll see a pop up screen that allows you to set a controller on the right. Choose "Modwheel" (or another CC if you have knobs on a controller you want to use etc.) and then you can even set limits of where the knob's control will start and end. You may want to bring the numbers closer together so the change can be more subtle but you can mess around with this to see. Then click okay.

The modhweel should be controlling the harmonics which will make that vocal sound more like a synth. Beyond that you can put it into Legato mode and adjust the portamento a bit (for a synth lead sound) and also mess around with the filter (you can even assign the same modwheel or any other controller to the filter cutoff if you want).

Have fun!
