This is a really nice. Very relaxing, very Cool and very natural. works well with my sunday morning cup of tea too...

What are you using for the double bass sound?

i am enjoying the overall mood of this piece .. it's well played , and contains no obvious flaws in production ...

i think you could generate a bit more interest if you attempted a few changes in the dynamics of the piece ...
there is an element of sameness that runs through the piece ...
the guitar solo presents several choice opportunities to vary the dynamics ...

certainly would like to hear more of your work ...

Andrew, well done. It's like a glass of lemonade on a hot day - very cool, and very refreshing. I would try to spice up the track with another 5-8 bars of different chords every now and again, else that bassline gets too repetitious. Excellent quality though, and it's convinced me of the warmth of T-RackS, which is on my shopping list.

More please?

I kinda agree with Normal here about the dynamics and the variation in chords at points. It would greatly enhance the tension of this very relaxing piece.

I agree there is a sense of more.
I originally planed on a solo bass but it just didn't sounded natural with my current VSTi.
So now I will have to purchase Trilogy ....

But now it's gone... maybe it was over in the Tracktion forum.

In any case, I loved the guitar playing and the chord progression, but agreed that a bit of modulation or variety would have added interest.

If this is a sign of things to come, though, sign me up for a subscription.

mmmmmmmm... 'nice' (in a 'welcome to jazz-club' stylee).

Left this on repeat- then realised I hadn't done any work in 20 mins.

It's pretty nice, but I kept thinking while listening that it sounds more like someone trying to "fake it" instead of actually knowing how to play jazz. There are stylistic boundaries governed by scales, chord structures, phrasings..etc in jazz, just as there are in other musical styles. The way the instruments are played in this track sounds like someone unfamiliar with the rules of jazz and trying to imitate without enough theory knowlege. I'm not saying rules aren't meant to be broken, I'm just saying the "smoothness" of jazz comes from the very specific rules I mentioned--and without them, it won't sound as "smooth."

I agree and I disagree.

The disagreement comes in the whole rules and boundaries thing. You alluded to the fact that rules are made to be broken, but that's not what I mean, either. I mean that jazz is a whole broad genre in which there really ARE no such rules or boundaries. Jazz is much more of an aesthetic and musical lifestyle than a set of rules, that's for sure.

The agreement is that with different chords, it COULD sound smoother. In other words, you've touched upon something, but I think you've come a bit short in your explanation of what your ears are telling you to be true.

LOL, "rules of Jazz"? That makes no sense at all. This is damn fine track, but needs a little more variation IMHO. Well made.

Of course I am "faking it" .
I am in no way a jazz player.
I play a little guitar and no keyboards what so ever.
The last time I made some recordings it was in the 70's on a 4 track reel to reel.
Since then I was busy with my real life job.
This is a hobby and I love every minute of it.
I try very hard to play every note the way it's in my head without thinking of any rules.
This is a first piece just a small jamming session with 2 cords.
More complete work coming soon. (not necessarily jazz)
