my determination on grasping fundamental controller concepts like CC's and LSBs etc has lead me to the promising tweakheadz tutorial(s).

Notice that in this screen "position" is the time stamp, "num" is the midi note on command, "val" is the velocity value and length/info is the length in ticks. 240 has the duration of an eighth note

Does anyone know what that 281 value in position is? The rest I can work out thanks to the blurb, but that's an anomaly to me!

I think it's 281 "ticks" - that's a fraction of a quarter note.

aah cool thanks Chapelle!

ok, if the time 'sig is something groovy, as oppose to 4/4, will that be reflected in the position data?

I'm guessing there's a 1000 ticks in a division? what's the relationship between bars and divisions?

is logic big? I'm still toying with standalones, trying to get the basics (ya don't say...)

Just playing with a demo of arturia lab, can't even find the midi config page!

thanks again

It's configurable - for example the default value in Reaper (which I use) is 960. Google says that in Logic it's the same value.
