Thanks Lotuzia, I only found out about StiX this morning and I'm really impressed especially with the ability of midi out, I'm certainly going to buy it. The polyrhythmic type sequencer is very creative and usually I have to mess around with layering different sequencers to achieve the same results. Thanks again.

Thanks. You should try the Polystep for interesting polyrythms also. With the good parameters it's very easy to give a '7/8 cycling on 4/4' feel for example, and even detail the 7/8 faux shuffle.

I'm really enjoying the sounds/kits and sequences I'm getting from this. The smart randomiser comes up with some great sounds which I'm surprised to find. Randomising in other instruments tend to usually be more hit and miss.

Midi Out : StiX can send Midi Out data, you have however to press the 'record' button located at the left of the virtual keyboard ( and activate record on your daw of course)

Randomizer : yes, it's ..... Smart You can however also use the Total Random button if you have the nostalgia of the *hit and miss* era ( or want to be blasted by weird/crazy results )

And, finally, Number of beats per bar can be changed/defined in the 'pattern area'.

While a lot of people seem to enjoy this function *as it is*, I've made some further tests with the Drumkit AI Random functions, and as a consequence, we decided to change slightly the database requests to make even better than it was. It already works, and will be in the next public version.

Thanks. however I've updated to 99c and now all the sounds used in the patch I was using for the track have changed dramatically! I have no idea why or what the original sounds were so I can't work on the track anymore. =

I am using Dance Floor > Swing > 120 House

Any idea why the sounds in this patched changed and any idea how I can get it back to what it was originally. I did minor tweeks to the preset which I can re-do if I can get this to sound properly.

UPDATE: I deleted all the StiX plugins and re-installed. still, every preset I call up has an unusable set of sounds - as if all the sounds have been randomized. shots of noise, clanks, beeps - nothing is musical or sounds right. also when I load in kits to an existing pattern.

System: macbook pro 17" early 2011, osx 10.10.5, logic x 10.2.0

Hmm, not normal, did you re-install the last RC, 0.99c, or a previous version ?

Also : What sample rate do you use for your projects ? 44 ? 96 ? 45 ?

I'd recommend that you revert back to the V0.99B RC version while we find a solution, and see if everything goes back to order, but before please, read my PM. If you have a version of the project where all was playing fine, it should be ok.

yes I re-downloaded 99c and installed. when I did the uninstall I just trashed the AU component - is there more I need to uninstall?

I will report back after rolling back to 99b.

Tutorials :

1/ I'm currently finishing a video tutorial about the Micro Position parameter. This parameter is very important to add life on any grooves. The video shows very well this (-imho of course-), and how to master it. It's quite spectacular.

2/ The overview video shows a bit of the workflow (but not in depth, and not everything that's true )


3/ Another tutorial that covers a specific synthesis parameter : The R-Clap envelopes (usefull to make claps, but also micro rythms, nested micro grooves, impressive variations and all kinds of FX impossible without them etc )


I'm thinking of other tutorials that should cover specific aspects of StiX :

1/ The Macro Modulators (how to program them, then how to use them to quckly sculpt the sound , probably in a tutorial covering the Eazy Synthesis page and all the Macro functions -stretch, pitch divergeant, convergeant etc)

2/ The Polytep Modulator. This is really another very powerfull unique feature.

The unfortunate point is that I'm on PC, on there's not a single software on PC that can do simultaneous screen AND sound capture with ASIO drivers.

Then, there is the f. manual . I've completely rewritten it, and you can open it from within StiX. There's a lot of information in the manual, and I hope people will find it usefull. A point is : StiX includes some never seen features : Though people can use the Polystep for example, and add-remove balls/change parameters/use chaotic movement and get amazing results without knowing the machinery behind, if one want to master the Polystep, there's no other way than spending a bit of time with it and understand precisely how it works.( And regarding this, reading the manual can definitely help)

Finally : If you would like some specific points covered by some tutorials, please feel free to post in this thread, and I'll try to answer, or include the points in future videos.

Else : StiX v1.0 should be released today if everythings works fine. So the 50% discount will be gone in the next days, probably tomorrow I think ( waiting for Xils to confirm this )

Ok, but please, dont be too late Winners presets will be probably included in StiX v1.01, possibly with new features like per drum HP/LP additional simple filter.

Then, we're not there. V1.0 is again delayed for 1/2 days , because we must 1rst fix a regression bug introduced in V0.99C ( Due to drumpads using samples handling when working on projects @ 96khz in some hosts/systems combos .... )

Good news is that, although only the intro price discount is mentioned on the site, *informed* people can still get it at 99$/94€ for a brief time (While other 'less informed' people will also have the nice surprise when checking out when they purchase StiX btw)

Bought this on Wednesday, not had a massive amount of time to delve but impressions so far are extremely positive.

Getting some beautiful clunky chunky moving filtered hits out of StiX which suits my style of music perfectly.

Would be super impressed if the probability function in the sequencer became a reality (one of the features i love about tremor) ... it would also be great if the named drum pads at the top 'lit up' when its corresponding sound is triggered.

In all - great work this is my new go to drum synth.
