Korg DAW maybe?

In answer to OT, Yes definitely. I'm assuming you mean PC/MAC fully fledged daw which is a Saturated market but saturated is not always a bad, it means lots of variety and only the fittest come out on top.

Ultimately it's usually good for the consumer as it means the main market sharers can never get too comfortable or complacent and start to exploit (if that's their intention), hence driving forward innovation whilst bringing down cost.

Sorry if that's a bit GSCE Economics, it's just how I think.

Mmv as usual but I don't think the modern daw market can ever be saturated. Some will always buy anything new that's not a complete mess or just way overpriced, as long as it does something (anything) cool or different.

We don't need another daw... but Korg are probably the company from whom I'd most like to see a new sub-daw to eventually replace Kore.

Absolutely. But, IMHO, keep it strictly ipad - for now.

Ok, since we're currently in dreamland, I would put Korg together with these guys:

Then later, bring in an established DAW Co to build a solid bridge between Wavemachinelabs' & Korg's baby - my first choice would probably be Ableton, because they're already 'friendly' with eachother (since ver 1.0.3):

All the pieces are in place; it's a matter of getting the players to collaborate with each other on a deeper level.

My slight fear is that Korg is out to create a Reason-like ecosystem for the ipad, where it's all about Korg & Korg only - not that Korg isn't capable of building a beautiful beast, if their current ipad/iphone offerings are any indicator, especially Gadget - but I firmly believe that it's in everyone's best interests for them to all work together - including from an economic standpoint.

Keep the DAWs coming, don't ever let these current situations feel they have room to breathe. Competition is good, and is the only thing that'll keep them on their toes.

Considering that a DAW itself is such a complex piece of code, it would make sense that new ones appear and old ones die/get rewritten, it is very obvious with some DAWs that they have hit something of a brick wall in terms of what they can do with the current codebase.
Any fresh perspective on the idea of a DAW could only be a good thing, I would suspect that we are far from seeing the last of the hardware companies getting in to the DAW arena.

Korg has a DAW that probably runs on Windows. The Kronos 2 is an intel Atom based PC on the inside. I would love to have an OS image of that...

I think it uses a linux kernel and hits the hardware direct for super low latency, you would have to hack it a lot to run elsewhere.
