Wonder if they have an upgrade discount for Vocalizer owners? The original Vocalizer is pretty damn cool for getting some interesting sounds - was 32-bit only though.

Now the sale is even better, only $19 until October 31HM wrote:It's on sale, reduced to 49 from 199,..
Impressed with the vids, so I downloaded and checked out the demo.
Reading the blurb and watching the vids I thought that it was much more than a vocoder, that it be used on all kinds of sounds.
Not very impressed with it, putting some synths through it I had hoped those sound to become bigger or more interesting, but no, rather a lot worse.
Reminds me of the thin uninspring sounds Twist or Wobble can make.

Was afraid of that. The blurb indeed sounded promising but it seems it's just another vocoder and not the most interesting at that. I guess iZotope's VocalSynth, now part of their Music Production Bundle 2, is more worthwhile.

Sonivox is garbage
stay far away from their stuff. its overpriced and the Copy-protection is completly weird and once you change computer and try to re-ibstall it won't let you
there is a reason why they don't put out demoes.

Took a punt anyway. Installed but haven't played with it yet. Not terribly impressed with the installation process; the AU won't start in Logic unless it's authorized, and their standalone authorization program says "this app is damaged" on startup. However using Reaper (I imagine any host other than Logic will do) to authorize did the trick. Just a heads up for anyone else who might be stuck.

It was easily worth $20 bucks (windows 7 64 bit) . It is stable on my system and creates some interesting textures. Run a few vocal acapellas through it and you can get some interesting results. The installation was painless as was the authorization. I bought a sonnivox plugin a few years ago and it was crap. This one is in the useful category and more so given the sale price. YMMV.
