Hello Peoples!

I'm self-educated in mixing mastering.

I play on guitar generally.

I have some questions about
final mastering proces.....

about limiting

here some pictures from wave lab

1st one is Pro mix artist Dave Marton

I push treshold on my limiter but my peaks
begin look ugly......

What I must to do

What is your masterin chain

Lower the gain on the input of the limiter (if there is such a knob on the limiter, most likeley there is).

Not so impatient.. I typed an answer but was logged out so now I must type it again.

I'm not sure what I see in the BAD picture. Is it the stereo L&R result after limiting? Then before the limiting the balance between left & right was probably not ok.

Or is it before & after the limiting? It looks like either one channel has clipped or the limiter had done its job. Actually you have to zoom in some more to have a proper look at the peaks to see if they are clipped or properly limited.

I normally use a combination of soft-knee (multi-band) compression (more compression above a certain level) and only use a limiter for the very strong peaks. Also user your ears to test the result, not your eyes.

And bear in mind that the example you gave is probably the work of a professional mastering studio and they probably have better tools than WaveLabs can give you.

Experiment with different compression-limiting settings... Good luck!
