This is a followup to a post I made months ago that got deleted (original post below). In short I'd bought UVI Vintage Vault from Guitar Center only to open it and find an empty box essentially. Anyway, the process of getting it straightened out took months and during that time a few people asked for followup and I'd said once it got resolved I would, hence this post. Well it took months and lots of follow up calls but GC finally came through. I picked up the replacement last week and verified with UVI that the new serial was good (it was an open box), so all's well that ends well I guess. I noticed in another recent thread that someone else had run into a similar problem so figured I'd post this update....

Good to know you got sorted out. I've been eyeballing this at my local GC for a while and last time I was in it was down to $69.99. Might grab it this weekend.

That explains something... I'd noticed that my return receipt showed an exchange for a $69 item. I'd paid $99 on clearance. Honestly for $69 you could buy it and probably sell on ebay pretty easy for 2x that much (it's still $500 list at a lot of places). That is, assuming it's not just an empty box (if you do buy it, definitely open it it there in front of the sales person).

Glad you got it resolved! What an ordeal.

Thanks, yeah, looking back it might not have been worth the effort but at point it became a sort of principal thing...
