Avenger is incredible, the ratio sound/Cpu is awesome when the gui is close but when the gui is open, in eco mode, my cpu cry
(W7, Reaper 5.29, V.1.25, I7 laptop with nvidia g force driver update)( cpu * 5 with the gui open)
Ps: i really like the content, the library is really great

I read very carefully what you wrote.msvs wrote:formatet or deleted machines are automatically "free", so not counting any more
@Sheeepsss
I did not say, this is a "kiddy feature". I said, Kids will misuse it and create high CPU. Please read carefully.
Again: Sure there may be a little "difference", but I personally do not see that the sound difference justifies a doubled CPU in any way
I said that you were "indirectly" saying that it was a kiddy feature...Maybe I was wrong though.
I said this because, as you were saying that adding more voices in random phase mode is a total and unnecessary waste of CPU (kiddy style), and I agree with you, I thought that for you it was the same in phase retrigger mode.
Given that for you there's mainly a volume increase and a spike, and only that surely wouldn't justify adding more unison voices, I read it as you were saying it was a "kiddy" request.
You say there may be a "little difference" between say 7 and 14 voices, but unfortunately, at least for me, this is not the case.
It just seems to be the case that I prefer other synths' unison implementations (or lack of limitations), for those kind of patches.
In Synthmaster for example, just using a 7 voices unison gives me a result much more similar to what I want to achieve (14 voices of unison in Serum in my following example).
In Avenger I tried to duplicate the first 7 voices V-saw OSC, to reach 14 voices, I tweaked the fine tune parameter on the second OSC and I also tried many Chorder combinations but I didn't succeed to get what I wanted, even after having RTFM
For a quick comparison I exported 5 audio files made in Serum, Synthmaster and Avenger and tried to match the sounds as close as possible (in my limited time to do this comparison).
Here's the link: https://soundcloud.com/blu_sky/sets/ava ... comparison
I made the files 10 seconds long but it's in the very first second that lies the sound much important to me(immediately after the attack).
I had a limited time because I had other things to do today, I'm confident that I could have match them closer, but I think that this example already shows pretty well the differences that I'm hearing.
I should add that with all other settings being the same, Avenger with 7 voices and Serum sound pretty much the same if I drop Serum voices to 7, for this reason I didn't include Serum at 7 voices (but I can upload the same "patch" with 7 voices of Serum if someone for any reasons wants to hear it too).
In these examples Serum's sound is what I prefer, followed by Synthmaster's 14 and 7 voices, then Avenger's 14 and 7 voices.
Here I used Serum as a reference but Synthmaster is capable of much better ( read more phasey) sounds than these ones.
I tried to match Synthmaster and Avenger to Serum, because Avanger and Serum's unison (mode:linear, range:2, width 100, warp:off, stack:off), as I said, is basically same sounding till 7 voices and my initial posts were starting from this assumption.
My preference is related to the amount of the "phasey" artifact present in the files.
In Avenger's 14 voices file I duplicated the first OSC and tweaked the fine tune to taste to make the result similar to the others. I didn't find a better way to get closer to the other synths' sound. Any advice to get closer than this is more than welcome, of course.
I hope that this can better explain what I'm talking about, and if nobody is interested feel free to ignore this post and go on...
This is just a simple "patch", a basic starting sound without any sort of modulation etc... just an init patch with phase retrigger, X unison voices and detune to taste. It's of course not the final sound that I'm after.
It's just a way to simply describe what my request was about. Just to clarify...
Have a nice evening!
EDIT: I reuploaded the Avenger 14 voices patch with a more closer sounding patch .
I can't recall the exact settings (I posted wrong patch settings before) because I didn't save a screenshot and the demo session expired but they should be pretty much these ones:
OSC1:-init demo patch with filter end effects turned off
-V-saw 7 voices
-Detune 30%
-Pan spread 30%
-Osc phase 0
-V-saw Mix 100%
OSC2: same as OSC 1 but with fine tune to + 2 cents

and a question:
why is this modulating also to the right? i set it to the left/minus value?

I get a pretty constant 10 samples or 2.3 millisecs delay when rendering any of the outputs.kokotte wrote:Nobody have a Random offset ( some samples) when rendering Avenger ?

Thanks Manuel and Godly on the kind words for the mini soundest / video.
I'm embarrassed to ask this, but after some time with the manual and trying various things, I can't figure out how to import the additional wavetables available on the download page. I have a file called WavetablesIngoWeider_v1.avengercontent sat here on the mac - the Avenger browser can't see it, there doesn't seem to be anything in that format in the expansions folder and can't see how to expand it if its compressed. Any ideas anyone?

Drag from browser to avenger's window, count to 5 and drop the .avengercontent file

Hi guys,
LOVING this synth, but quick question -- is there a way to make the drum samples play back in one shot mode? The default seems to be a gate mode, e.g. a quick press of the key means a clipped version of the samples plays back -- am I missing a toggle so the entire drum sample gets triggered on any kind of key press?
thanks!

if i render 2 times the same patch, eg, a kick sample with no modulation or fx, i have some random timing offset with the render, one time, it s 2 samples, after, 5 samples...7 samples, all my other synth are perfect align when i render...

What DAW.? I am on Cubase 8.5 Mac. I agree all other synths are sample accurate when rendered.kokotte wrote:thanks Denis, woodsdenis wrote:I get a pretty constant 10 samples or 2.3 millisecs delay when rendering any of the outputs.kokotte wrote:Nobody have a Random offset ( some samples) when rendering Avenger ?

Yes you can. There's a button you press that turns of the drum sequencer, and that will allow you to play the drum sounds individually.mholloway wrote:Hi guys,

Sorry but that's not what I'm asking about, I'm talking about how the drum samples are triggered when you are playing them from the keys -- the default is a gate mode where they shut off the moment the key is released. I'd like a toggle so they play in "one shot" mode, meaning the sample plays in its entirety on every key press. Playing multiple snares in succession, for example, sounds very awkward because the sample keeps cutting off before finishing, because the key is being released before the next keypress for the same snare.johnnyh78 wrote:Yes you can. This is pretty basic drum machine control stuff, just wondering how / where / if I can toggle it.
thanks
