I feel the are pretty smooth. But then again, other than the blender, I usually just leave everything on ten. I have to sand down the volume knob I got today, I'll have a better idea by then.

I'm eternally twiddling the knobs. I play clean at 3 ish, and crunch at 8/9ish. I rarely have the volume all the way up. I also constantly mess with the tone controls, especially on the bridge and bridge/middle.incubus wrote:I feel the are pretty smooth. If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

to get a more smooth distribution of volume/tone, is it the linear pots which are desirable?
is it the logarithmic pots which have all of that action in a narrow area near the extreme, then very little effect over most of the rest of the movement? like 95% action in 20% of the movement as mentioned?...

hmm, nah I think the ones with a accentuating curve are log.Xiangqi wrote:interesting... so linear are the pots with the big action within a narrow distance... thanks
linear is like a straight line, and log is like a mathematical power-
it is a curved line
I wonder what I want in here

these may helpSJ_Digriz wrote:As an example, is that on my PRS Private Stock I had to stick a rubber grommet on the volume pot because simply tapping the guitar would move it a tiny bit. And, 95% of the volume is in the first 20% .. so those little moves made a big sound difference.
