New user to Softube modular. So far after a few days very much enjoying the product though the CPU demands may relegate it's usage to notepad / tryouts as opposed to an integrated part of any song / track. That said, yet to try it out linking to (real) modular.

Couple of things I'd like to put on the wishlist. First a scope utility module - always helpful to visualise the outputs - especially for training / teaching others. Secondly a replication of A184-1 or A114 would nice

Do we have a list of peoples module wish lists? I've seen Maths mentioned elsewhere

how do i access the bottom modules on the select screen i cannot move down and can only see the top of them. Tried the mouse and the keyboard seems to be stuck

Hi here is an 8 osc pad sound with control over the freq, res and lfo spd. It is quite cpu intensive 50% on an i5

There's a few scope plugins for DAWs, some are free. I'd rather Softube focus on more functionality for the actual modular, personally.

Was planning on demoing this today as looks interesting but a bit concerned about the cpu hit. Can anyone that owns this tell me which of the factory presets are most ridiculous in terms of cpu load so I have a quick reference to see what the likely effect on my system will be?

Any of the polyphonic ones.

And yeah, the thing is a power suck. I have to freeze all tracks after I'm done with them or I'll be toast after 2 or 3 instances. Of course my patches are huge too so take that into account.

Seriously, it has no maths modules already?

If you mean something like the Make Noise Maths module then no, but as they seem to have some deal going with Intelljel then maybe the Quadra+Expander is on the list for being modelled.

I too have been demoing it (again - thanks Softube!) this week because of the deal at Pluginboutique and whilst I have really enjoyed playing with it and it sounds great I won't be buying it just yet.

As was noted in another thread, Softube may have bitten off more than they can chew here. The amount of work that is needed to model things to the accuracy that meets their standards is immense, so I doubt if we will ever see many exotic West Coast style modules.

If we do, then I'll get the wallet out.

In the meantime, Reaktor's West Coast modules, their new stuff coming out soon, and thelizard's Euroreakt stuff is enough to fill several lifetimes. If you haven't downloaded the latter recently, you now get a copy of his immensely readable approved PhD thesis (congratulations Michael!) which documents everything thoroughly and provides a lot of background info about the Unfiltered Audio plugs too. He has a load of granular modules coming imminently apparently.

All in all I find Euroreakt the most incredible gift to the community, possibly ever.

Sorry I meant more generally, forgetting that 'Maths' is also a specific name for Make Noises' function generator - so I really meant the class of modules "function generators'

eg:

thought Doepfer had some, are they not in Softube Modular?

Short answer: no.
