elxsound wrote:@zvenx, what host are you using... Perhaps on your DAW you can automate the plugin by mapping midi to the on/off or bypass.

Also you could do some creative routing, even using multiples of Shaperbox to selectively affect specific parts (with instances on the send and return respectively).
Cubendo and Maschine, I am thinking that that is the only way to do it, but very impractical (automation is) for live playing..... I guess since it doesn't have a midi learn of its own I can map the master dry/wet.

No Ideal but a work around.

Ah for live play... Yeah that's a different beast.

A native bypass would be a great feature request even for production use. The Master wet/dry is not as ideal obviously because of the gradual change vs an immediate bypass option.

Well, I would be happy if that gets added to a future version.

You can automate the bypass button of the Shapers.

Nice one! I completely overlooked that!

Is this a bug or a feature? TimeShaper can only be midi-triggered if the DAW is running, other plugins like VolumeShaper can be triggered without the DAW running.

I'm playing with TimeShaper on a track right now, and I've got two instances in series with the same settings to create something a bit similar to a multi-tap delay. It makes me think a feedback parameter would open up new worlds for this effect. :o

send'em a note!... I was playing with the shaperbox filter and was suprised to see that it did not have multiband option (the way that Time, Width, Pan and Volume do...) so I sent'em a note as a feature request.
They were pretty quick to reply and while they made no promises, they said they DO keep a feature request list ;] ...I don't know what their "threshold for action" might be on those feature requests, but as devs go, they are receptive!
(FWIW... if you DO drop'em a note, why not mention the multiband option for the shaperbox filter, if ya please? :D  )

Hi everyone,

We just released a new TimeShaper tutorial video, showing a neat technique for easily creating vinyl-style scratches that are tightly in time.

Thanks,

It's an intentional feature – TimeShaper does not output audio while the transport is stopped. This is because – unlike the other Shapers – it is basically a big delay-style buffer that reaches into the past bar of audio (or however long your Loop Length is). So it's totally possible to create curves that repeat parts of the signal many beats and bars later. Without the "output mute" feature, you would hear those repeated parts continuing to play when you hit "stop" – which gets annoying pretty quick when you are working on a track :)
