Nothing particularly new from what you can already get on youtube.
Mixed workflow from rack to floating VST windows. Definately a little strange being used to the Rack order of things.

I watched the archived version on their FB page.

I was hoping they would cover CPU usage at all. In particular I'd like to know if VSTs will be spread onto multiple cores or if any further work has been done to try to utilize all cores.

I did think it was cool that VST targets were available to the combinator programmer. That definitely helps with external CV modulation. It was also interesting to see the order of priority to Automation + CV where Automation takes priority.

I was also surprised the update came with PDC now. That's a welcome feature too.

Overall I liked what I saw and I look forward to trying it on the 29th.

I think that VST in Reason is great. RE was never really interesting (non-tranferable, expensive, no must-have plugins with cutting edge technology and/or top sound quality).

Why would I buy for example Kilohearts Toolkit RE for 149 euro, when I can buy Kilohearts The Works for 90 pounds that's compatible with all my DAW's?

It won't be long when Propellerhead will be the only developer for RE's. Or Propellerhead will open up the plugin format (like au, aax and vst). That would be the smartest thing to do.

Where is it available for 90 - on their site it is over 400?

Anyone can confirm?
The Facebook stream was in mono, stereo VSTs are of course in stereo.

Can anyone give a heads up on how effect VST's are working inside Reason? Can you insert them as send effects, and wire them in the mixer, just like you'd do with Reason's stock devices, or RE's? I'm sure that's a yes, but, just want to be sure.

Yes.

I would imagine similar to most other DAW, if a particular VST utilizes SSE/multiple cores, then they would continue to do so outside of Reason. I can't see Reason having any control over a 3rd party plugin's CPU use (not like Rack Extensions, anyway).

I hope that's true. One of the first tests I'm planning on doing is loading Diva, selecting a pad sound, and turning on multicore. I hope to see the voices distribute to multiple cores like I see with Reaper.

Just tried it with the beta - it does indeed distribute with multi-core VST(i)'s. Tried it with Diva and Omnisphere 2, both distributed as they do in other hosts.

Awesome! Thank you for trying and letting me know. Omni is another synth I look forward to using in the rack. :)

Have any beta-testers tried 32 bit VST in Reason using JBridge ? I wondered if that was a stable option ?

It was at Plugin Boutique, but it returned to half price. Probably a mistake.
