I am trying to figure out if an instrument rack can point (like an alias) to another instrument rack. I use Instrument Racks to create layered sounds I use in various songs. The problem is, I can't always remember if a particular song uses, "High Pad", or "Pad with Bass" or what. One option is to name each Instrument Rack with their song title, but then I may have four Instrument Racks that are really just the same "High Pad". I don't like that because if I change one of those racks, the others do not automatically get updated.
So what I'm wondering is if there is anything in Ableton that will allow me to create, say, multiple Instrument Racks for each song ("Song1", "Song2", "Song3") but have them ALL point or reference the "High Pad" instrument Rack. This way, if I make changes to "High Pad", then the next time I drag/drop "Song2" onto my Track, it will automatically include the changes I made to "High Pad".
Is there anything like this in Ableton or am I stuck making duplicate Instrument Racks for each song? I've also thought of using a Spreadsheet to reference which sounds to use for each song.

I think it is not possible.
Each Rack instance in a project is independent of each other, and from the preset file on disk too.
Live is non-destructive, seems it is a "hard rule" on their "DAW philosophy".
The opposite could be a disaster, one user saving a Rack without backup, changing the sound of other 8 songs that were not supposed to change.
