That's why they are only doing the SRX cards, and not the SR-JV cards - the exploding capacitors proved too hard to model...

I assume the SRX patches are just for nostalgia reasons? I mean, synth romplers like M1 are kind of historically significant, but old orchestral patches just sound .. dated .. ?

I was playing with the SRX the other day, and quite enjoyed it. Of course, compared to modern, mega-sampled and articulated orchestral libraries, it's not nearly in the same league, but there are nice sounds all the same and I enjoyed going through the first bank of patches.

For a rompler, the strings are really nice, and you get a bunch of other stuff like orchestra flourishes and hits. I wouldn't write it off a "useless old patches" that can't be used...

Yeah but if you're serious about doing some "Eurosongs" this is the way to go.

I just loaded the srx 6 ( complete orchestra ) into my integra , and yes ..it still souds decent
Not as good as the supernatural stuff and multi giga sample libraries ...but good enough .

No, he means the Roland Cloud list of instruments to install.

Have you tried redownloading the Roland Cloud manager software? You might have an out of date version, perhaps..?

I find that the Roland Cloud Jupiter 8 sounds really good and I would love to find more presets for it!

As I understand the cloud version offers only a part of the original Factory patches.
These are the all patches with a 1981 prefix in their names.
It seems that 41 patches are still missing from the original Factory bank.
On Synthmania Paolo Di Nicolantonio friendly hosts a PDF with the original Factory patch sheets:

I naively began to try to copy the value parameters from the first patch sheet for the preset 11 NEG SYNC but after more than an hour the result was a quite horibble sound with only a very far away similarity to the original as heard here:

I think my lack of skills into sound programming may be the main reason of my failure but I find that the low resolution of the pdf makes it rather difficult to read.
I thought about recreating the graphic of a patch sheet (with the help of the available original documentation) where the parameter name would be better readable. This would probably help to recreate the patches easier, but before I begin what is quite a lot of work I would like to know if maybe someone has already transcribed the missing presets and would be willing to make these presets available?

The manager is pretty buggy. Had probs yesterday again. It worked to manually fully quit it and restart.

The Arturia JP8 has all the original presets, so it might be worth checking the values used there with the patch sheets, and if they match (not necessarily a given, as the parameters are often a bit out on the Arturia emulations), then using those values to more easily recreate the patches in the Roland JP8.

You can use the demo, if you don't have the Arturia one...

Actually, not. The Factory patches included in JUP-8 V are not the same ones that are listed in Synthmania, and also included in Roland Juputer-8 (although some may be common).

However, I had a project to recreate the original patches, which us currently at Patch 61 (so, not many missing). I stopped because I found that the LFO in JUP-8 V doesn't go high enough when compared with the real Jupiter-8, and that makes some patches that rely heavily on LFO modulation almost impossible to recreate.

I can share the bank as it is, in case there are people interested in it. But remember it is for the Arturia JUP-8 V not for the Roland Jupiter-8

Even if these are not the original patches it can be a source for new sounds.
I will give your idea a try.
