I love vst 5.1
listening to your tune. NOW

love when that acid line comes in at 1:55. (and again later)
I like this, but I think it needs just a bit a refinement to really kick ass. Not much though, and I really can't put my finger on what either. very crystal method like again from you.

and you do a six minute tune, yet days ago were complaining about being in a creative rut!

Post

it's funny, 'cos the adid line was the very last thing I added...yet they always seem to make my tunes better.

Thanks for listening Gary, glad you partially enjoyed it

I used this....
It seems to be even a version before 5.1 (cubasis 4?)

Just a question from the jpg; why if you have 8 audio-tracks available are all audio tracks played by 1+2?

K, nuff techie things as this still is about the track itself.

Tiptop acid line that surely ups the tune big time, but somehow the track is missing that oempf. The long bass-sounds could do with some subtle filter work to make em more lively I think. Kick/snare is okay but need roughening up a bit and the sound FX are pretty darn cool. Keep going K and fill up my folder ;)

Will be interesting to just see where a collab will go when we dive into it ;)

Thanks Mark. Yeah this was a result of trying to work thru my creative block, just farting around on a Sunday afternoon with a few beers etc.

Regards the screenshot - I build my tracks in Acid, but write in Cubasis (that is version 5 BTW). So I sketch the structure in Cubasis but everything is bounced to wav to work with in Acid.

Thanks for listening :)

I fcken love the acid line..... :hyper:
Makes the track as far as I'm concerned {would be interested to know what soft synth}.
The breaks and builds are nicely timed and keep the track from getting stale.
Maybe it's my headphones at work, but I think that really compressing the f@ck out of the kick will move some serious air :P

That's pretty much the way I work, but use Orion as the sketch tool.
Acid Pro is my backbone and I'd be lost without it.

I was gonna say Reaktor Sessions Electronic Instruments Vol 1, but that's not true :hihi: - it's ABL, it's pricey but IMHO well worth it. I don't want to get into a 303 debate, you could achieve the same with Tau 2, but ABL has a built in sequencer which suits my way of working (for Tau 2 you would need to use piano roll..).

Anyway, thanks for listening. Funny, 'cos acid lines appear in nearly all my trax and I was trying to do one without, but I slung that in at the last minute and as you say, it does make the tune. I will come back to this track after a few days have passed (and some more opinions...) to see where to go with it.

Cheers!

Oooooh, you saucy little devil.... :x

Re 303, I use the thingy stuck in Orion Pro. Niiiiiiiice :D

Post

I listened last night.
I have pretty much the same opinion as Mystarh. FX and 303 line is great, the rest doesn't really do it for me. It's not that it's bad, I just think there's not enough going on.
Fill in the blanks, you have enough tracks available don't you :P

I also think that the snare could use a different sound....no no, still a snare, but another one :D

Post

cheers, snares - aaaarrrrrgggghhhhh

Post

okay, I shall work on a new mix - add some more bits and bobs...

Make sure you add some knobs and knockers while you're at it

porn soundtrack?

I like this tune a lot esp when it gets all thick. How do you do that rising pitch thing with the baseline that is sheer class. There's a scratch in there that is great as well!

Wicked tune!
