I also like the Strings i can make easy with P900 which sounds nice (at least for me) also in the very high frequencies. This thing can spit out some nice harmonics.

If you mean the string preset, yes. I will share it later today.jue wrote:Hello,
could you please share this preset?

It´s one of these presets which are great at higher octaves (really high here) and O.k. in the mid range but terrible at the low end.
It´s also hard to get the volume constant trough the frequencies without loosing what makes this string sound interesting.
I will try to fine tune it a bit and share it then.

Has a kind of saxophone/trumpet timbre maybe if i get it a bit better:

I don't have a Mac so I will not be able to look at the preset when it will be eventually shared, so I might as well just ask this right now

It´s a combination of audio rate modulation of the filter cutoff at high resonance plus some saturation.Niowiad wrote:CoolCinebient wrote:Another preset i need to fine tune a bit more...then i will share too of course.

P900 is really the best for this timbres so far but i could get similar "fluttering" sounds with other synths as well.
The closest to this i could get are with some iOS apps like Moog Model D and Zeeon could handle that well too.
On desktop Repro and Dagger are quite there too.
But in general all synths with proper audio rate modulation and at least 2 OSC can create similar timbres in theory. Of course a modular similar to P900 might be the best.
What synth do you have which offers at least 2 OSC and audio rate modulations (and it better has also a good distortion/saturation which makes a huge part of the timbre and the modulation range should be very high)?
It´s one of these presets i do with all synth to try if they can handle that well

So, here is a string preset i tweaked a bit until i was quite happy.
Not perfect yet but works not bad across a wide range.
Here an example:

And here the AU preset:

Thanks. I have Dagger although I've always only used it for pretty standard and simple bass sounds.Cinebient wrote:It´s a combination of audio rate modulation of the filter cutoff at high resonance plus some saturation.Niowiad wrote:CoolCinebient wrote:Another preset i need to fine tune a bit more...then i will share too of course.

Don't know if the lfo can reach the frequency you intended, or if the cutoff modulation by osc2 can be helpful.
I was also trying with the TAL-MOD demo, the lfo rate can go very high, but for this particular type of sound I honestly have no clue on how to set even the the basic parameters such as initial cutoff frequency, lfo rate, lfo depth and so on...
Interesting stuff though.

You need to use an OSC modulation source and the filter cutoff as target.Niowiad wrote:Thanks. F.e.: Is OSC 1 sawtooth the sound source you should use OSC2 (or 3) triangle exact 1 or better 2 octaves lower as modulation source. The OSC 2/3 also should not output volume, just as modulation source to the filter cutoff. Set the resonance to about 70% to start with and slowly close the cutoff while playing about the mid range frequencies. The rest is fine tuning.
But saturation/distortion at higher resonance is what created this saxophone/trumpet like fluttering timbre. P900 also offer a ton more options to really get much better here than everything else i tested yet.
There are many ways to achieve this and every synth seems to work better with other waveforms.
I could post a screenshot tomorrow from a Dagger preset which has kind of that timbre if i have time. More easy to explain for me since my english lacks too.

That'd be great thanks. No hurry. I'll experiment meanwhile.Cinebient wrote:You need to use an OSC modulation source and the filter cutoff as target.Niowiad wrote:Thanks. I've seen and heard so many "brass/trumpet" patches but this type of sound is something very different and much more interesting.
I did some research on google/youtube but couldn't find anything based on audiorate cutoff modulation. Thanks.

Thank you !
I think i will just pull them all out (at least the ones i would call usable) after i sorted some stuff out and post the whole bank (maybe about 50 so far).
I just think i have to look forward at some point since the bugs get not solved yet and the developer also seems not to answer support e-mails anymore (maybe my patience is too short and i should wait some days more).
However, as great as this synth sounds, i doubt it will have a bright future like it goes....i really hope i´m wrong here.
I have still 2 days on holiday so i will try to finish the bank in 2 days and will just post it "as is".
Just beware, never use without a limiter!
