So: the protection is still iLok. You *don't* need to sign up for an iLok *account*, and you *don't* need to install or run the iLok license manager *application* to activate your license. Softube basically activates it via iLok over the internet directly, to save the user some faff.
Exactly and yes you can still choose to activate the disk or the iLok dongle..if you choose the ilok account option.
