I was just about to post the same thing. Closing and reopening the GUI results in a return to 100% size. Would be good to have it remember the settings for every instance really.

No need for x32 but some might need it, I guess its in the works.
Yeah the first Slack link was an invitation link (for opening an account) and the second Slack link was a direct link to the x64 versions (vst2,vst3).

the guys (the actual dev guys) have been busy making it so that there's both a x32 and x64 package (so it's not either or), and yep, judging by kvr and other places, quite a lot of people want 32bit versions (although not as many as want a functioning zoom) - and since one volunteer popped up who was able to make it compile in 32bit, that's gonna be a reality sooner rather than later.

same for the three guys working on getting linux to build and run and play accurately, which is pretty good.

yes, as you can see, zoom is not 100% finished everywhere, so it will be a while before the surge website can say: wonderful new Zoomable interface. there's still tons to do - especially with remembering the zoom state, storing the default zoom state, storing the user-defined zoom state, deciding which one it should be, even some colours for modulation need to be tweaked further. but if earlier on it was "can't compile macos plugin" now it's like 85% zoom workable but still some work to do.

i appreciate the screenshots, can you let me know which specific app and OS it was running on, please?

To be honest, from my perspective only, zoomable interface isnt essential, rather additional goodie. :) On 1920*1080 screen 125% is nice size. Noob idea, maybe skin/graphics should be made at max zoom level so they´ll look good and clear even on default 100% when graphic would be scaled down. That would eliminate blurry skin. I dont know if thats possible, noob idea.

Using VSThost by Seib v1.56 x64 http://www.hermannseib.com/english/vsthost.htm
Not my go to when making music but go to for testing and playing with plugins.

Yep, there's a ticket for user preference saving, for recalling zoom state, and quite a few others. there's still tons of lines that need to be coded before zoom is 100% ready for primetime..

I'm sure there are but in the meantime, the current implementation makes Surge so much more usable for many of us, thanks to all involved.

Surge has grown in size by multiple megabytes because of there being assets at 4x and other multipliers. So higher resolutions are being worked on :)

I thought vector graphics would eliminate both blurring and high file sizes?

It is still a big improvement, I think there are only a few fonts and smaller areas that look blurrier and they are still readable, it's just not perfect yet but the progress is appreciated all the same.

not vector yet. still some progress to be made. if i understand correctly, the interface has been recreated with vector, but is dumped to PNG at high resolution for now. something something "vstgui issues" and stuff.

planetearth wrote: Fri Feb 01, 2019 3:22 am I just downloaded the latest version 10 minutes ago, and can confirm that some of the text gets a bit blurry when you zoom. That's not a big deal to me, personally.

I think the bigger problem is that the plug-in window doesn't enlarge when you zoom to 125% (or when choosing "grow by X%" option), and when you drag it out to see the rest of the plug-in, the plug-in GUI is cut off where the window was originally, and you can't re-size it again.
Clipboard01 (1).jpg
If you zoom by 150%, the plug-in window does enlarge and the GUI appears to get bigger, but the GUI is still cut off. As a result, it looks basically like the image I've attached...just bigger, with more empty space in the window where the GUI should be.

Closing the window and re-opening it resets the size to 100%, apparently.

I'm trying to use this in Sonar Platinum (x64) on Windows 7 (x64).

I mentioned the zoom returning to 100% a few days ago, in this post. Has anyone else who's tried the zoom encountered these other issues, where the plug-in's window doesn't size with the GUI?

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Because of the pile-up here "oh i can't believe the 64bit package is actually 32bit thissuxxxx", i suggested: go to slack and get the 64bit package.

the 64bit package nowadays comes from the main website, correctly, by clicking on the 64bit package.

now i'm hoping that the next step will be for there to be a 32bit button for windows and for it to contain the vst2 (and vst3?) 32bit windows version.

so we'll have the best of both windows worlds.

hopefully soon.

I think people have already addressed this, but I'm getting an error after installation saying Surge is not installed correctly... I'm on Mac/El Capitan... Do we need to copy files into a different folder? I thought thats what I read in this thread somewhere, but I can't seem to find it again.

try this:
- Shut down all DAWs
- Wipe the folders ~/Library/Application Support/Surge and /Library/Application Support/Surge
- Download the newest installer from http://surge-synthesizer.github.io
- Run the installer, and there should be a newly created /Library/Application Support/Surge -folder
- Check what the plugin says now.
