Well, with this I think we have yet another choice :D

The UAD-1 and Powercore are PCI Cards you slot into your computer and run High quality plugins off, to save CPU.
Dude, I do own a UAD-1. It runs some cool plugins. But it doesn't run Sculpture which I learned to love during the last two days :P nor does it run my plugins, nor do I wish to learn 56k assembly for a market that simply ain't big enough.

Cheers,

;) Urs

Fine, you've made your point. Now just troll away if you have nothing better to do than to bore the shit out of us with your mine-is-bigger comments.
well i was not really talking about mine being bigger (allthough it probebly is) but there you go ...i will stroll off to the Evil land of Steinberg

dont worry i will brush off my dusty foot prints on the way out...

SSM wrote:the software you use is not a religion its a tool that you use to work with...people get to defencive if you "diss there DAW"
Well, if you'd start to 'diss' Ableton Live4 now, I could consider to get defensive!

But anyways, for what other reasons than to play the troll do you come to a Logic thread to 'diss' Logic? :?

mmm fare point...allthough my UAD-1 sounds GREAT and I got some damn fine Voxengo plug ins too, any better than those and your talking top end hardware IMO

SSM wrote:but on that note why is it that most "Logic users" tend to be stuck right up there arse???
hmm .. now that you say it, i cant answer. but thats just because i am not aware of this, though its probably true in my case.
i´ll think about it, and when i can give you an OnTopic-answer i´ll do .. gimme some time, as this is a new thought to me, being a logic user.+
i´ll also ask some friends over here where i live, also being logic users.

cheers my dear!

By the way, there are tons of screenshots to be found here:

http://www.midia.co.jp/PRODUCTS/emagics ... c_pro.html
http://www.midia.co.jp/PRODUCTS/emagics ... o_nf3.html
etc. ....
Just make sure to follow all the links (and those at the bottom of the pages).

Some interesting details to be discovered there, like for example the hand tool in the track mixer  , or the granular realtime Grooveshifter plugin and the Beat Counter plugin (both of which I haven't seen mentioned anywhere else), as well as details of the revised design.

Thanks to Mithy over at OSX Audio, who posted the links.

 Yep, I guess this is the result of Sony having bought Apple!

You know about Hermode Tuning? If not, read here: http://www.hermode.de/
I think you will like it!
I have it in my Waldorf synths and it just makes harmonic structures sound so much better. :D

SSM wrote:27 is very good, there have also been other tests that have proven PCs are faster ..which is why Apples adds for the G5 were band in the UK..not sure about the US
Hmmm. Well I coulda kept adding them, but it was getting kinda boring. Just pointing out that for some reason your results look kinda skewed. Perhaps it's just that Logic is heavily optimized for the Mac, and Cubase/Nuendo has some room for improvement.

SSM wrote: Did you have 27 VSTs or AUs? ... admittedly AUs take up less CPU, but im talking platforms ...also how many Audio tracks you manage with that?
I was running AU's. It would be pretty silly to use the VST-AU converter on the Waves bundle, when there's a legitimate AU available. As far as audio tracks . . .I believe I had about 40 running, but the disc meter was only about 25-30%.

BTW . . . .no offence intended if you are somehow related to this company . . . . but those have to be the ugliest frickin' excuses for a computer I've ever seen. The little one looks one of those hand crank music boxes where a puppet jumps outta the top . . . and the bigger one looks like a jewelry box or something. Please deduct 10 points from the scores for being hideous.
