This is interesting....
Avast didn't flag the site or the downloads, but Chrome did: According to Chrome, the file was blocked because:
Your file download may have been blocked for one of two reasons:
- We think it might be a malicious, unwanted, or uncommon file.
- Malicious: You tried downloading malware.
- Unwanted: You tried downloading a deceptive piece of software. This program, disguised as a helpful download, may actually make unexpected changes to your computer.
- Uncommon: You tried downloading an unfamiliar and potentially dangerous piece of software.
- We've found that the website you tried to download the file from has been known to distribute malware.
I can get around this, but it's rare for Chrome to block a download.
UPDATE: Malwarebytes (running locally) also found nothing odd about the files, and Firefox and Edge had no problems and offered no warnings before downloading the files.

Huh. I just started wondering what might be the least expensive piece of Focusrite (or Novation?) hardware I can purchase to qualify for all of the freebies. In my case, that doesn't include interfaces, since I'm perfectly happy with my SPL Crimson. Any experiences on this here?

What!!!
You're not familiar with the famous Eastcoast UK shrimp recipe...

Funny that.. It was also one of my motivations to cook well, oh and my own tastes, ofc.pekbro wrote: Thu May 02, 2019 11:28 pm
No worries about the recipe, it's always quite popular when I make it for others. Especially,
the ladiesIt's reminiscent of a stroganoff, what with all the sour cream. If you're not
a fan of the tang of a good beef stroganoff, you might find it similar.
I may post something a little more ethnic and unusual at some point![]()
Love the tang of sour cream, creme fraise , lemon and lime... and tamarind.

The other guitarist in my band bought a 2nd hand launchpad mini off Ebay for £30. Registered that and has access to the novation freebies. I got them buying a 2nd hand Nocturn 25 off Ebay for £25 before Christmas.GreyLion wrote: Fri May 03, 2019 4:55 am Huh. I'm looking for a 2nd hand Scarlett for my animation PC. I will get him to register it, so he gets the focusrite freebies. (I have a Scarlett already on my music PC).

If you want to be really sneaky, you could just troll Ebay listings of gear, until you find a listing with a picture showing the serial and register that?

Maybe I'm an idiot (please don't answer that...
) but I don't get the explanation of DeeQ
"DeeQ is a single-band dynamic EQ filter that automatically adjusts the parameters of the EQ based on the incoming envelope"
What's automatic about it? What differs it from a one-band EQ after a compressor?
The maximiser looks promising. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the suggestion, rollasoc! For some reason I hadn't even thought of Ebay. Time to mess with search parameters there to see if I can find some hardware that I actually want.

Do you know if that includes Novation software?pekbro wrote: Thu Apr 04, 2019 9:29 pm So FYI: per support: they are distinguishing between novation and focusrite with these offers. The latest D16 Nithonat offer is only available to those with registered Novation gear. Focusrite owners have not been included. (Lame).

If you qualify for any of these offers they should be listed in your account. I've been thinking of getting a launchpad mini to assign the buttons to key commands in Logic. I've seen people do this in other DAW's but I'm not sure if it's possible in Logic. Anybody try that?
Also, if you buy second hand, can you still register it and get the sound collective deals?

2nd hand works. I registered a new 6i6v2 and a used Ultranova and I can get all the software (sometimes it's for one or the other).Local Man wrote: Mon May 06, 2019 2:13 pm I've been thinking of getting a launchpad mini to assign the buttons to key commands in Logic. I might take a chance on the launchpad mini or maybe even the launch control if I can find one for a good price.
The only question is if they're worth dealing with in Logic.
