FTR I'm glad I unlocked the thread last night, no I had no idea that this would happen but this was a major issue concerning NI, imagine if those wanting to turn this into another Massive X thread. First it would have been locked, people would be worried that another thread might be a risk to start after just a few people didn't comply last night.
Now we seem to have something valid to discuss instead dragging yet another thread through the mud. This right here is testament as to why staying on topic is important.

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Not big strategic info... but the short-term goals have been much more forth-coming within NI forums...
for example:
As you all know we, unfortunately, had to say goodbye to a lot of our colleagues and friends from across the company. One of them being Toby, who you’ve seen around on the forum. He left a little parting gift, in the form of Controller Editor support for MIKRO MK3.
It is a turbulent time right now, but we wanted to let you know what we are currently working on:
Coming in Maschine 2.8.6
Controller Editor support for MIKRO MK3
MK3 and STUDIO: visual feedback for modulated parameters: a dot is displayed to indicate that a parameter is being modulated
MK3 and MIKRO MK3: the position of the playhead, within the current pattern, is displayed via the touch strip LEDs (when no touch strip mode is engaged)
MK3: Reorganise Groups and Sounds via the PAD MODE and SHIFT button
MK3 and STUDIO: Set Pattern, Sound, Group and Scene colors from the hardware
When switching between Ideas and Arranger views, the playhead focus will now follow as well.
Coming in Komplete Kontrol 2.1.5
Cubase / Nuendo integration for A-Series and M32 keyboards
Studio One integration (added by Presonus in version 4.5.3) for Komplete Kontrol S-Series MK2, A-Series and M32 keyboards. This update supports improved track navigation from S-Series MK2 (coming in a future update to Studio One)
Coming Soon
Other than that we are currently working on:
macOS Catalina compatibility
VST3 support for Maschine and KOMPLETE KONTROL
Record free-length patterns in Maschine (the pattern will grow in length as you continue recording)
MIDI Assignment Editor for A-Series and M32 keyboards
Similar to last time, we don’t have a release date for this yet, it depends on our development time, and beta testing. We will let you know once we get closer to release. A beta for testing these features will be available on Centercode prior to release.
You can join our beta environment here: https://native-instruments.centercode.com/welcome/
Please rest assured, that we will be continuing working on Maschine and KOMPLETE KONTROL with a focus on improving the product experience and feature set. All update posts we have given in recent weeks and months are still valid. And now we would like to have our actions speak, rather our words, by getting these releases ready for you.
Thanks for your support!
Cheers,
Kai

^^ Good news then for Maschine owners
I'll hold to it and find a workflow in integrating it with Bitwig (only in Windows though
I hope one day they make it easier to have a Linux driver).
Selling their products is not good idea with such low demand (especially the hardware here for less than half price if you don't want to wait one year!).
Anyway, it seems like they will concentrate on Dance related software and hardware, which is also a good direction. What they need is to be clear in their direction and stick to it, so people know what to expect next.

Using: Cubase Pro 15, Bitwig 5, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

That is the "management team", but they are not the guys who are coding the stuff...
I just built a couple of houses here and it was a very interesting insight into the building industry...
The guys who are actually building the houses are screwed down to the lowest possible price by the company that employs them on a contract basis and I feel sorry for them, because they are treated like shit...
Yet they are responsible for doing all of the real work...
Meanwhile, back at the corporate headquarters, the CEO and his circus clowns aka "the management" are up in their ivory towers, giving themselves bonuses for having made so much money by shafting the very people that they should be respectful of...
But it doesn't work that way....
While the workers are doing the hard yards, the bean counters are perusing the pie charts, the KPI's and the latest BMW and Mercedes brochures...
I got a great deal of satisfaction in going into the inner sanctum of that company and sticking my shoe up the arse of the CEO and he had to sit there and take it, because he wanted my money
I respected the guys who were building the houses and I appreciated their contribution much more than the greedy clowns in management,so I did what I could to look after the workers and stand up for their rights...
I wouldn't piss on that CEO if he was on fire...
Same for those two clowns who run Native Instruments

A builder here started as two brothers building fences,
decades later, now they can build nearly anything,
great productivity and results are not optional.
They feature top craftsmen, profit sharing, topping-off parties,
company picnics, seasonal celebration parties, retirement plan...
but work starts on time, with workers ready to roll,
not straggling in, lunch is 30 minutes, not 42,
breaks are 15 min, not 26, and quitting time is uniform.
Slags need not apply. When layoffs happen, good workers
can count on being re-hired when new contracts are begun.

Very perceptive. While we are here on earth (the heart), we are all free to choose the light or the shadow as our final destination. To give, or to take. Shadow always hides behind the light; and those who see far beyond the surface of reality know that all we do to others, we ultimately do to ourselves. The worst way to punish those who take advantage of others, is to let them. Rebuking them would be the kindest thing to do.digitalboytn wrote: Sun Sep 08, 2019 12:06 am That is the "management team", but they are not the guys who are coding the stuff...

Should Native Instruments choose people over profit, then so will people choose them. The proud and the rich are quick to forget this truth.

I have no clue what that has to do with Native Instruments or a parallel in another industry given by another person.Vertion wrote: Sun Sep 08, 2019 3:00 am While we are here on earth (the heart), we are all free to choose the light or the shadow as our final destination.

No, we have parallel universes that intersect with ancient aliens. Stop making sense!

If you ignore the first paragraph then what he's saying makes sense. Although I'm also not a fan of soapbox moralizing in general.Forgotten wrote: Sun Sep 08, 2019 3:08 amI have no clue what that has to do with Native Instruments or a parallel in another industry given by another person.Vertion wrote: Sun Sep 08, 2019 3:00 am While we are here on earth (the heart), we are all free to choose the light or the shadow as our final destination.

Unfortunately, most corporations are forced into the situation of choosing profits over people
As long as they don't have a monopoly on the products and services that they are offering, then we can often just move to another provider...
One of the cool things about the digital music business, is that the internet has levelled the playing field and the smaller players are able to compete like never before...
But the BIG Boys don't always like this because they would like to try and Kontrol everything...
