Reaper - Consolidate two items into one on bounce key command?

essentially rendering every item selected to a new track on one key command

doable by making a custom action and assigning a keystroke to it using this sort of sequence (all available) This works tho
select the items (assumes they are on the same track)
copy items
insert new track
paste
glue

you can render seelected items and there might be a way to open them in the same project
