Reason VST Midi Out Workaround?

Hi Everyone,
I have been waiting to upgrade to Reason 11 because I would like to get midi out of the Reason VST into my main DAW. In thinking about this, I had an idea and was wondering if the group here thought that this would work. Specifically, purchase the Silent Way Voice Controller Rack Extension (https://www.reasonstudios.com/shop/rack ... ontroller/) and send the CV output of that Rack Extension (which, based on my limited understanding, is an audio signal) from the Reason VST to the audio input of another DAW track. On that audio track, place the Silent Way CV To MIDI VST (https://www.expert-sleepers.co.uk/silentway.html) to convert the CV audio signal back to a midi signal for use anywhere within the DAW.
This is a kluge, I know, and extremely inefficient. However, I don't know if and when Propellerheads will set up midi out in the Reason VST, and I don't necessarily want to wait. Plus, I was going to buy the Silent Way Rack Extension anyway in effort to use Reason with my modular stuff. Would love to test this out for everyone, but I just don't have the time, so I thought I would at least throw the idea out there for anyone that does.

I had mentioned in KVR somewhere earlier (I may have have deleted that post) to encode midi into wav then decode back to midi. But your's is more elegant and describes how it can be done. But for me I will just wait or the midi output. But maybe not.

Interesting idea, for sure:) I look forward to hearing from anyone less dumb than me about all this Silent Way stuff, if this could actually work. And it would have to work really well to be worth all the investment (to me at least!) considering that the Props will probably be fixing MIDI out anyway, shortly! Also my main DAW is Logic which is kinda MIDI-from-plugins retarded:(
The main problem I have understanding "this Silent Way stuff" is that I never see any discussion or tutorials anywhere about adapting all these hardware oriented tools to be used in situations that don't involve any hardware, such as you're proposing, and would apply to me, as I have no hardware synths and would only ever get a DC-coupled audio interface if I could use it to get software talking to other software without a lot of further expense, and hassle with technologies I really have no clue about, despite much effort to get one (a clue, that is). A better audio-in solution for recording would be cool…
The best thing I ever DID find on the topic (well, close anyway) was this:

(from here)Default Inter-app Virtual CV
So I did some experimenting with a few things. First I tried Soundflower and Loopback. They work for sending CV as audio between VCV rack and your DAW, but performance is not good enough and it's not very stable. Then I tried using the virtual audio channels of my audio interface. My motu 16A lets me create more channels than I have actual physical I/O for, I guess for using with their AVB networking features. The 16A has a maximum of 32 physical in and out, but if I'm using thunderbolt I can create a setup with 128 I/O with virtual channels. I can use those virtual channels to send audio between VCV rack and ableton, with high performance and stability. So until there's a high performance, inter-app standard for sending audio and/or virtual CV, using the virtual channels of networkable audio interfaces (Dante-capable, or AVB) is a viable option. For now the biggest limitation for doing this with VCV rack is the fact that right now you can only have one active audio I/O module in a rack or it crashes. And the way you select banks of channels for those modules is not flexible. But the VCV dev community is receptive to suggestions and sometimes they are lightening-fast.

you can get MIDI out of Reason with this VSTi
A virtual MIDI cable is a useful thing with this,
they are:-
LoopBe
LoopMIDI
SpringBeats
otherwise a hardware MIDI port can be used
I tested with 'Matrix Pattern Sequencer'
the VSTi will only load on Windows, x86 and x64 versions are there
I hope something like this is what was asked?

I decided without Midi-out native the rack is useless to me overall as a production tool to include in my projects, so I'll be waiting to upgrade when it's added.
I believe it was omitted only to garner another paid upgrade in the future, so I'll wait it out till then instead.

Have you tried Vital?

but then for $71

Europa is included.
So I have not totally convinced myself not to buy.

Yeah, I tend to agree with that. I think, though, Matthias from Propellerhead said on Facebook that it will come sooner rather than later. So I’ll be saving my money until then. And wait for a holliday discount as well.Psuper wrote: Tue Dec 03, 2019 10:32 pm I decided without Midi-out native the rack is useless to me overall as a production tool to include in my projects, so I'll be waiting to upgrade when it's added.

The Silent Way approach should work fine, but it’s a kludge and could be cumbersome if you want to utilize a bunch of CC’s in addition to basic note data. I have the Silent Way VSTs, but I didn’t actually realize there was a Reason version. Personally, I think I’d rather just wait until it is supported natively. I’m looking forward to integrating various player combinations into other DAWs.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

Were any of the Players discounted on Black Friday?
I am mostly interested in the midi Players.
Many look interesting and some are a bit pricey for my blood.
