I put 2 songs in my music website: "Exodus Through Egypt" (has some guitar) is the song on top, and "Living Again" (more guitar oriented) is the next song down. Please tell me how you like the music, and how it can be improved, and I promise to return the favor. Here is my link:

Hey Aaron. Here we go.

Exodus Through Egypt - Love the melody on this one. The whole vibe is so cool. Nice clean mix. The only thing I noticed is that it seems to be mixed lower in volume than most things I listen to. Had to turn my volume up about 2 notches. Is that done intentionally or is it something Soundclick does? Anyway, really liked this one. Wish it was longer.

Living Again - This one seems a little different from your usual songs. Kind of subdued at the start and then the distorted guitar comes in and the whole vibe completely changes. Almost has like a prog rock feel to it. Then I noticed the time on the song and said to myself "Oh, of course. lol" Really cool track the way it morphs. And those horns. Never saw that coming. May I ask what you used for the horns? They sound really good. Also love the panning on the vocals. Very cool effect. You really went all out on this one. Very well done. Of the two I think this is my favorite.

wagtunes,
Thank you for both reviews! As far as lower volume on "Exodus Through Egypt" goes: I never use loads of compression; I often find that rather fatiguing. I just mix it so it peaks as close to 0 dB as I dare. I don't know if you have this problem, but sometimes I do: some songs vary by as much as perhaps plus or minus a full dB or more, every time you play them. Hard to get close to 0 dB when that happens, or you do trial and error during mix-down until you get one with decent volume. Horns on "Living Again": Roland Sound Canvas SC-55 tone module circa 1991. I will now hunt down your latest song I haven't heard yet.

Ah, Roland Sound Canvas. Roland made some great stuff back in the day. I owned lots of their synths and keyboards when I had a hardware studio.
