I wrote an email to the support and i got a response, that a user reported that the Reason Dongle works for Avenger.
Can anyone confirm?

If the Reason Ignition Key (aka CmStick) is a v3 model or above, it will work. I have a v2, it definitely does not work.

I'm not trying to cause a fight here, And I don't OWN Avenger (Yet...This 50% of deal is Enticing) but I truly Fail to see why Code-Meter is a Big Deal...
To be fair i'm used to Code-Meter, I-lok, Splice, NI...eh...whatever they're Installation manager is called, and so on running on my Laptop and I even have Reason and Rack Extensions so I've spent time with the Code-Meter program, but If anything from the Video that was shown I feel like In THEORY, (Minus the Added variable of CodeMeter being Glitchy) That is seems it's an easier system then the past. Is there something Im missing here significant that I shouldn't be? It's not like Vengeance is Requiring you to firsthand install a Virus onto your Computer. And if anyone says its a virus then thats ridiculous because I honestly never even Noticed Code Meters existence. It just sits in silence on the back of my Mac until it's needed.

If you are willing to accept everything and you think everything is ok, you can go ahead, but let's go by parts so we at least can understand everything better, even those that are not yet aware and newcomers:

The big deal is not only about codemeter, but the fact that the users now need to ask permissions to this new system in order to use the product they paid for Each 3 Months = Dependency = No Product

Another thing we should consider is that if it wasn't for an user pointing out this new process many people, old avenger users and newcomers, wouldn't be aware about any of this new "process", I had to ask if this was real:

Ok, I have to bring this up, because I think we need to apply some pressure here.

I'm on board with better copy protection. But the new CodeMeter licenses have a 90 day expiration date, and have to be renewed every 90 days. Even if you are using a hardware key.

Manuel was up front with us about the new copy-protection. He was silent about this expiration date, almost as if he knew it would not go over well.

I'm hoping Manuel sees reason, and reverses his decision on this.

But how many people who are purchasing such expensive software and downloading gigabytes of sounds really cannot connect to the internet at least once in 3 months?

Seriously? You are totally missing the point. It's not about the internet.

1) It's not an automatic process. Every 90 days, your software stops working, and you have to update your CodeMeter container or key. That's BS. No one else does this. I have a lot of software on iLok and eLicenser. None of them do this.

2) I bought the software. I have a permanent license to use it. Yet I have to repeatedly ask for permission to do so. It is not subscription software. That I could understand. It's a permanent license.

This is unbelievable... can someone confirm this? it is true? the copy protection needs to verify each 3 months and it stop working? I never have seen something like this, avenger users have lost completely their synth already if this is true.

This goes from the page 719 and forward; I recommend you continue reading gradually until this page, it will take a little time until manuel (the vengeance guy) does mention of it, if you think those are many pages just jump through the post and read those that are discussing this new "process" and the issues, is worth the time.

Ok if it is not a problem for you, then good for you, but there is a legit reason why many people doesn't like to install a lot of those stuffs in their machine and why they dislike some of those process that makes the users more and more dependent of companies, and therefore decided to stop the support of such mechanisms.

Here is for instance an user that lost his licenses and what one of those "license managers" suggested to him, demanding a crazy amount of money to recover it again:

It seems easier, but you have to wonder at what cost, because many people from the beginning decided to buy avenger because the process was different: You buy a Product and you get the Product.
Even if the company is not there in as many years as we can imagine your product and your keys continues functional and there is not a continuous Dependency of the company in order to use it like it is now, is very disappointing; so: There is not product anymore, just complete dependency for those that are willing to accept it.

This is one of the main reason many people decided to leave and forget everything about this synth and go for other alternatives (I would do the same), some of them even selling their copy in the market place just to get rid of these continuous new "processes" this company is implementing, and don't get me wrong, I'm not here bashing, I'm expressing how disappointing and so wrong is the direction this company is taking. Something I wouldn't like to see never from any of the companies I support and put my investments.

The vengeance guys should change their ways, be more humble and think about those bad moves.

I don't want to check this thread or site everyday to get notice about a new version. That's why I'm asking. Is there somewhere a "check for new version" function in 1.5?

Man, I absolutely love this synth. Makes me wish I knew more about sound design. I'm having fun trying to dissect the presets and figure things out though. I'm going to have to watch some tutorials and learn what's all there. There's so many options and ways to do things. It's amazing how Avenger can do just about anything. The mod matrix is so far the hardest concept for me to get used to - only because I've never really used one before, and there are so many routing options.

I don't seem to be able to make anyone understand the issue - this is soooo frustrating

• I have the 1.4.10 installer

• I install it fine, launch Ableton and try to load Avenger

• A popup window opens (not Avenger itself) saying there's no license with a link to login or download the key file offline.

• Online does not work - clicking login it just says my SYSTEM ID is a invalid format (XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX)... and my system ID (that is displayed on screen) is in this format so I've no idea what this error means

• Offline obviously doesn't work as there's no longer any way of entering my system ID

So basically I'm stuck with no way to launch Avenger (it just keeps popping up the same license screen) so no way to get to Vman.

Hopefully this is clear and makes sense?

Can I send my 1.4.10 system ID via email and get a license file generated manually?

I didnt say anything my friend. Rene did a check and told me you block the license server, if you cant reach it. Go and check your HOST file! And then contact the support, and dont ask in public forums if you dont want public responses.
