Ableton Live Audio Crackling [UPDATE - FIXED]

Hello, I'm having a problem with Ableton Live.

I just got a Behringer Deepmind 12 for Christmas, and boy is it amazing! Unfortunately, in Ableton Live, it seems to randomly start to crackle (The Track the Behringer Deepmind 12 is on). I've tried changing the Buffer Size many times, from 256 to 4096, nothing seems to work, it always ends up crackling at some point. Only like, 1% of my CPU is being used, and the Track itself isn't clipping. I have no idea as to what is going on / wrong with this, I just want to have a good, non-crackly audio track that I don't have to constantly fiddle around with. Maybe then I'll be able to try to come up with a few songs after this annoying problem is fixed :?

ALSO: I'd prefer it if the Buffer Size could be lower, as it's really kinda hard to play anything when there's like a second of delay. I usually just use headphones if I actually just wanna randomly come up with things and play the Behringer Deepmind 12, because its too wonky to play through Ableton/ : / .

EDIT: Sorry, I haven't gotten around to saying this until now but, I've gotten it fixed. I was able to switch to The UMC204HD's drivers, I'm pretty sure, if I remember correctly.

What kind of soundcard/audio interface are you using?
Live version #?
OS version #?
Does crackling happen on other armed audio tracks?
Could there be any electrical or signal grounding/shielding issues in your setup?

I'm using a Behringer UMC204HD.

Ableton Live Lite v.10.1

Windows 10 Pro Vrsn. 1903

All the cables are secure, I don't know what you mean by other armed audio tracks, I only have 2 tracks, one for the left output of the Behringer Deepmind 12, and one for the right output. I have a MIDI track with the Ableton Grand Piano sound open, and it doesn't crackle.

I waited for the random crackling to start, and plugged in my headphones into the audio interface, no crackling there. It has to be Ableton that's doing this.

And it's not like its at a set time, it just randomly starts doing it, and not instantly, however, it does it after a while, and it's annoying because I think I finally got it right and then it screws up the sound with the crackling. : /

EDIT: Oh, and also, it gradually gets more crackly, it doesn't just instantly get crackly, no. It builds it up.

does it snap, crackle and pop at breakfast time?
Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.

If it doesn't crackle with Grand Piano open then why do you assume its Live causing the problem? Far more likely to be a lead ... have you tried swapping out the leads connecting the DM?

No, but thanks, I'll try that. The only thing I don't understand is how could it be the leads, I waited for it to crackle in Ableton, plugged in my headphones into the audio interface that the sound from the Behringer Deepmind 12 went into, and there wasn't any crackling. And there isn't any crackling when I plug the headphones into the Behringer Deepmind 12 itself.

Bad USB cable/connection possibly? It's really a matter of elimination ... one thing at a time.

Everything is properly connected.... I don't know what the issue is.

EDIT: I also tried, once it started crackling, pressing the "PAD" Buttons on the UMC204HD Audio Interface, which lowers the input level, and still heard crackling, even though it really reduced the level quite a bit. So it either has to be a bad / faulty connection (which I don't think it is, since I've checked everything), or Ableton Live itself, which, I think it is, because messing around with the Buffer Size definitely does something.

can you try computers audio to eliminate the behringer interface and see if the crackling persists with say the computers input?

Well ... thats likely to be it. I'd increase the buffer size and see if the crackling stops.

It does, but it eventually comes back. Even at 4096.

my money is on poor/faulty interface or perhaps latest drivers/firmware need installing, im running 10.1 flawlessly although on OS X it shouldn't be strungling on such small channel count

I don't think I've installed any drivers for the UMC204HD, I'll check and see and try to find some.

Ok, there weren't any drivers for it. I just finished installing / just installed the latest drivers for the UMC204HD from the official Behringer site, so I'll check it out and see if things work better now. Fingers crossed. .
