John answered it in a previous post above:

"There will be a demo but it won't be available for a while - I don't know how long but we will have a wave of tech support I'm sure hit us and we are leaving in a week for the NAMM show. So it probably won't land until early February I'm guessing." :tu:

Cheers, I missed that. Just hope the intro deal is still available when the first demo drops.

I have three questions:

1) Is it possible to remove certain (Or even all) of the library presets e.g for those that require software we don't own?

2) Is it possible to have a User presets stored both separately, and within the main library?

3) Is Catalina support on the horizon?

Thanks

1) NONE of the presets in the Unify Library I built require any additional software to play! It would be terribly cruel to make a cool library for the base plug-in and tell you to go buy other plug-ins before you can play a patch. I'd NEVER do that to you my friend. There will be libraries coming out in the future for sale that will be for a specific plug-in (or two or three or for say all of Arturia's offerings), but the factory voicing is using the 6 Instruments and 40 audio effects that are included and installed when you install Unify.

2) The Main library contains 400 patches that you can't erase. You can delete them from your HD if you wish, but that doesn't make sense... when you open the save window there is a "Library" pull-down where you can choose an existing library location (by default there is a library called "User Library") or easily create a new Library where patches will be saved. You can easily have libraries for various projects or whatever you would like.

3) Catalina is a bad word to say these days. I'm not happy at all with the hoops we have to jump thru to get Unify to work with Catalina (I've tried and we're not compatible at the moment). We WILL add Catalina support and it's a high priority - just disappointed with Apple that they are making life so difficult for developers to support their computers (oh the irony!).

Cheers!

It's not a decision, it's extra work we have to do that we haven't done yet. We'll do the work but decided to not delay the release of Unify while this work is being done. Shane was busy writing a plug-in scanner that doesn't crash Unify or your DAW and runs in the background instead of dealing with Apple to get properly notarized....

@realkuhl, you mention a Korg plugin here. Clearly I realise this video wasn't done today or yesterday, was it the Triton you were referring to?

And Directly related, does the Guru Sampler have an interface? and can we manipulate our own samples in it or is this part of what unify pro will be about?

My comment was in reference to the video, in which you demonstrated a patch that involved parts that required additional software (Ample guitat (free), and Roland CC subscription), to get the full benefit. I just got the impression that the library was eventually going to be full of presets that would be like Swiss cheese i.e full of holes ;)

And if i were to delete them from my hard-drive, they would cease to show in the software, correct? Please don't take this personally, as I think you are an excellent sound-designer. However, I am already drowning in fantastic sounds, and am currently in the process of streamlining my system, and selling things off.

Your software appeals to me for a few reasons i.e the CPU-spreading, the ease of stacking instruments, and the ability to use those stacks/strips across multiple DAW. I'm sure there are going to be some of your presets and samples that I would want to keep around. I would just appreciate the ability to curate the list, and get rid of the ones that don't appeal to my personal tastes.

To clarify: I'm currently still on Mojave. And I certainly appreciate your feelings with regard to the difficulties present in supporting us Apple-users. My question was more to discover whether Catalina support was in future plans, or whether MacOS was something you were debating dropping at some point.

Cheers!

Also. How long will the intro price last, and what will final retail be set at?

Thanks :tu:

Congratulations on the release of UNIFY. Useful and interesting product for sure.
I did visit the site but did not find anything about the license transfer policy. I do understand it's a new product so I am not expecting everything to be set on the get go. If you have decided on any type of license transfer scheme would like to know about it.
