OK, thanks, I observe that turning both of those options back on makes the loop actually loop again, while making the playback head start location unaffective.BluGenes wrote: Mon Aug 17, 2020 11:04 am right click the play button and turn on "start play back at timeline selection" and "Stop Play back at timeline selection"..
Still though, what we don't have here, and what we should have IMO, is for the loop on/off switch to "do it's job" logically and consistently in all cases.
IOW, if playback enters the loop area while the loop on/off switch is on, then playback will henceforth loop, always.
It makes no sense to me (to anyone?) to have loop playback on and then have the program not loop!
Further, "normally" (if I may use that term) one would expect playback to start at the location of the playback head, wherever it happens to be, either in, before, or after the loop area.
"Start play back at timeline selection" (IOW, ignore the position of the playback head) then becomes an option the user can choose when/if they wish to most rapidly define new loop areas and play them back w/o having to move the position of the playback head manually. I do get why that could be useful at some points in some workflows, but IMO such is not the logical default.
I see the logical default as: a) playback head governs playback start point and b) loop on/off governs loop on/off. There need not be any conflict arising from this (witness, I think, every DAW I use).
Also: I lovingly suggest new keyboard shortcuts for: "Locate playback head to start of timeline selection area" and "Locate playback head to end of timeline selection area".
