Well, I once wanted to be a football player but I was not good enough. So I accepted my faith. Because I noticed other players soon were far better players then I ever could be, no matter how hard I tried. I am pretty stubborn, but not that stubborn.

It's what this thread is all about; sometimes you need a little help from your friends

you know sir, I am human and I make mistakes, if I moved this to the wrong place it was only because I was on my tablet (sometimes I'm on my phone too) and sometimes things are more difficult on mobile devices, today is Holly's bday...I went down to spend a couple of days with her, but even when I am taking time to myself I am still trying here serving the members.
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

What to do when you learned a piano piece many years ago, but you learned only the first few bars? It started to feel like I would never learn the rest. Anyone have had this experience?

Not necessarily. If I have to write an address on an envelope, it usually looks nice and neat but if I have to write a letter by hand, my handwriting deteriorates quickly.

Think of it like a stew or curry - you can make one in half-an-hour on the stove if you need to but if you put it in a slow cooker and let it cook all day it's going to be much better. To do some things properly takes time and if you don't take the right amount of time, it won't turn out as good as it could be.

In the old days, when I had to pay for studio time, we'd record 5 or 6 songs one weekend and mix them the next and within a few days you could always hear the things you should have done differently, or simply didn't have time to do, that would make the song sound so much better. If you are making a new song every day, I can't see that you'd have the same degree of revision to pick out those mistakes and work on them in later pieces. If anything, you'd end up entrenching bad habits.
