Now that I think about it, I think I will go with the Plus version after all. I mostly stay offline while making music, so I won't be needing the unlimited TTS stuff. More wavetables from the Pro version would be nice, but then again, it's not really that necessary with the nice wavetable editor onboard. I can always upgrade later down the road I guess. I really like the pricing scheme, very generous and reasonable.
Plus easy import of all your existing wavetables

Yes, I can't wait to see what other synths Matt plans on creating. I wish he would make an advanced FM/AM/Phase Distortion synth with a customizable FM matrix, something like Sytrus, that would be just awesome.

Is the manual somewhere to find? If not only could someone upload it here maybe?

This is the perfect opportunity and motivation for me to better organise my wavetable library to have everything in one place and have all of my compatible synths point to the same directory!
Always Read the Manual!

Somehow the sound doesn't wow me at all. It all sounds a little plastic to me. Listen to the MX demos if you want to hear a WT synth with impressive sound. What's interesting about this synth is the amount of features, the great visual design and unique 60 fps GPU rendered GUI. Guess I will wait for the free version. I would have liked to join the early bird party but I can't do it.
I bought the early access, and after a few days of playing with it i can only confirm your thoughts. It is a fun synth to program, but soundwise it really doesn't hold up to the synths it's trying to imitate.

You get 5 TTWT per day with Plus vs unlimited in Pro. More factory wavetables and presets in Pro and prioritised/premium support. Bug fixes will still be pushed to Free and Plus users.
Great, thanks!

I'm surprised at some of the comments I think it sounds great even without taking into account the price !

Do you mean Serum?

Does anyone know what exactly means 2x oversampling? I'm running my DAW at 96k, does it mean Vital is therefore at 192k?

That's what it usually means, but you'd have to ask support directly for a definitive answer for vital

In your opinion what's it trying to imitate? Please provide dentical preset renders (as a blind test) from the synrhs you don't mention....

I think everyone needs to step back and take a deep breath. At the very top level this synth only costs $80 and you get some nice amenities with that level.

The synth we're all using now only cost $20 and there will be a free version.

To ask it to "kill Serum" which costs far more than twice as much would be a little unfair.

I will admit that after spending quite some time making patches for Vital yesterday I took a break and called up Hive 2 and was surprised by how much better its core sound is for the types of patches I make.

But that doesn't mean Vital won't find its niche. I think it's far too early on to fully judge what Vital is capable of doing. We're all just poking along with what is basically a pre-release without a manual to reference so I think in time Vital will find its place.

For those fretting over spending $20 it's basically the price of a pizza that will be gone in a couple of hours. If Vital just entertains you for a few days then you're well ahead of the game and you've got a synth that most likely has a bright future.
