The Glue

I noticed he was last active on GS in late August. In these times I just hope he's OK.

Post

His last tweet is from November 20th, so he is alive. :P

I can't lie to you about your chances, but... you have my sympathies.

Maybe he divided "The Glue" into two new versions : "The Paste" (for hard hitting, transient smashing) and "The Lub" (for smooth leveling) :D :P

Hey guys, still here! Just busy with a whole bunch of stuff so not very visible on forums. I have been offered jobs from lots of different places, but no-one can offer more money than I'm already making with Cytomic!

I've just given one of the main talks at the recent Audio Developer Conference 2020, have been sorting out a collaboration with a major analog synthesizer company, still fine tuning the copy protection system to handle security updates to Win and Mac, maintaining the web page, working on a few other collaborations with other software companies, and supporting my family. My wife's father passed away recently (natural causes) and with Covid that meant she was away for around 2 months, so I was taking care of everything on the home front and taking a bit of a break from work.

I'm currently waiting form my ARM macbook to arrive, everything is in place for an ARM build since I've already done the hard work support ARM at the start of 2019 - one of those other thing that isn't visible to anyone here but I knew needed to be done in preparation for now. New products are shiny and exciting, but being able to run the products you already own on your new computer is more important to me.

Thanks, he was a good man and is sorely missed. I’m glad she got to spend time with him before he passed, and that I was able to support her and take care of our family in that time, and her self isolation upon her return to Western Australia from NSW.

Is there any chance of adding a low-pass filter to the sidechain of The Glue? Sometimes (eg. drum loop -> bass) I want only the low frequencies to trigger compression.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

I don't want to complicate the main plugin with any more sidechain filter options, sorry. Perhaps in the future I could have a generic EQ section for more advanced sidechain processing, but for now it's up to the DAW to handle it.

I've released a new build of The Glue. For anyone having trouble with authorisations re-triggering (different machine id's being generated for the same machine), especially on Big Sur and Catalina, then this build will help. I've also updated the way the trial version works so people that saved settings in a song can't lose them if the plugin later on isn't authorised, the plugin will just return exactly the previous saved state until authorised, which is a much better approach.

With the new, much more reliable, machine id that is generated everyone will need to re-authorise with this build, sorry. I've cleared everyone's authorisation counts back to zero so everyone has a clean slate.

v1.4.2 (14 January 2020)
• New: Changed trial limitations to only save when authorised, instead of only loading when authorised.
• Fixed: Prevented data loss when loading and saving songs when plugin is not authorised. If the plugin is authorised, and saves data to a song, then the plugin becomes un-authorised (eg new when loading on a new machine), the plugin will still load the saved data from the song, and save that exact same data back to the song so settings won’t be lost.
• Fixed: improved machine id generation on macOS and Windows

Andy, can you add a Hilbert transform option to the sidechain of the Glue? I guess, the original schematics already does a great job of converting audio to DC level, but IMO it could be an interesting option.
