Using Modes 2 and 3 with low audio rate clocks (20-800Hz) is a lot of fun too.

You know, I always roll my eyes at posts like this, but... 
I just put this skif together around what I want to use CV with. I want it to be a drum machine.
I have some ideas on how to patch it up, but I am looking for ideas on how to patch it up.

Personally, I don't have a lot of use for panning. I would rather have some kind of cool function generator or something. *shrug
The multi-config firmware thing seems to be getting pretty popular. Just sayin
Honestly, I wouldn't even mind paying a reasonable amount for some nice firmware options.

Hehehe, if you ever just try to hook up a second pair of speakers placed behind you, there's a good chance you'll be hooked yourself.
But yeah, alternative modes are something we'll certainly give a lot of thought. I think some ideas have already been mentioned.

Heh, 4 speakers is easier said than done for my setup, I'll have to figure a way to work that out.
I have surround speakers for my pc, just no way to hook it up. I'll have to work on that. Anyway,
still excited to see what you come up with in the firmware.

i did try a quad speaker set up, got a bit sea sick tbh
(I love quadraphonic sound though... if I was doing live sets only, I'd do that all the time.)
in a smallish room with weird drones and baby's crying just spinning around you, it can get a bit stomach churning
would be cool just starting in stereo as normal, then just as everyone is relaxed from your lovely ambient tones throw some squealing dubstep bass out of the rear
then bounce some weird drones and stuff around the room and run away quickly afterwards
(it's mainly rock crowds here,,small town, what i do is seen as witchcraft)

usually have 4 outs going to the audio card anyway, could have gone out of the audio card as well to the amps but just went direct as I just wanted to give it a quick try.
id obviously do something to the room, move things around and get matching monitors front and rear, same height and such, if i was going to do it more often.
maybe one day

Now that I have read everything.
How many or what modules does this conceptually replace in your opinion?
It does everything my Mutamix, Sequential Switch Matrix, (SSM), S&H, quantizer, and output mixer does but better. How often and which of those functions I need at once is bending my mind to think about. My feeling is I am covered, and CVilization will allow me solutions if I want to find them; I need to experience it for a while.
I was looking at the pin diagrams for the select bus up this thread, could I just wire up a buss connector to a 3.5mm jack and get buss clock, and access to presets?

Just came with up with a patch idea for mode 4: use the outputs of a quadrature VCO for phase modulation.
Each 90 degree phase output goes into an input, then just monitor output 1, assign equal CV to all four channels, and modulate with an LFO or VCO
I found it works better for me with Angle Grinder and VCFQ than with the A-110-4's sine/cosine outs (multing them to inverters to get 180 and 270 phases from the 0 and 90), but it still works with that too.

In recent years I've begun to move out of the DAW, first with the Analog Rytm, then the A4, and more recently an Elektron Heat and Waldorf Iridium.
My current intended use-case for CVilization is to receive the A4's CV A, B, C, and D outputs and then distribute them into a buffered mult to run to the control inputs of my A4, Rytm, Heat, and Iridium's CV inputs. This would allow me to use each output of the A4 to send a different style of modulation (A = random values, B = envelope, C = LFO, etc), and then use CVilization as a router using a MIDI to CV converter.
My current question is if there are recallable programs for routing configurations in Mode 1 or if it's just a single routing configuration that you can shift in a pre-determined fashion. If the latter, would the former be feasible to add?
Additionally -- I've been using a couple Akai MB76's for managing audio signal flow configurations. This lets me switch the order of my boxes on the fly: Ie. I can start with the Rytm being at the end for gluing duties, but I can then switch to have the Rytm running through the Iridium, leaving the A4 at the end). Obviously, it would be a bit costly to invest in enough CVilization modules to achieve the same IO, and perhaps the ADDA conversion would impact the sound in an unpleasant way by comparison, BUT -- having heard the cleanliness of the sequential switches with audio video, I find myself tempted. A feature that would tempt me even more is if you could use the fading functionality exemplified by Mode 4's Quad-Panner to interpolate between different routing configurations in Mode 1. The idea of a truly fluid/ floating point patchbay really really gets me hype.

Each mode has 7 presets which can be saved and recalled from the front panel. Additionally you can save/recall up to 128 presets via MIDI commands.
I have an MB76, it's such a neat, useful piece of gear. I wish that there was something similar but with balanced I/O and finer control of gain/attenuation. I want to use a Focusrite Rednet R1 for basically the same thing.
