Thank you! The latest version of Falcon and UVIPlayer finally install again on my system. Previous updates would download, ask for my password and do nothing.

I can also recommend Vital for that, good wavetable editor and can be had free:

Even has direct Text-To-Wavetable built in.

Cheers,

I'm still getting crackles/pops in Falcon in Studio One when using IRCAM Stretch.

Interestingly enough - no issue in Live 11.

With identical sample buffer size?

Post

Yes, this IRCAM Stretch is very heavy on cpu. First time I can play chords with it finally and can enjoy it on my M1 now.
I hope one day Falcon is a native Apple silicon plug-in....but I guess that will take some time.

What's new in V2.1.4?

Does Falcon work with Big Sur M1???? Ableton?

Post

Falcon is not yet native ARM but does work on an M1 with Big Sur with rosetta (it does on my M1 MBP) although not officially supported.

Im thinking about taking advantage of the sale, and getting Falcon. Is Falcon really that good?

Post

It's a sound design powerhouse, for sure.

Post

I eventually bought it, and I agree with ED above. It is a sound design powerhouse.
I however don't use it as much because of things like no mulitthread support (so it can use quite a bit of cpu) or no general theme or guidelines to what macros are mapped to what in sound banks and a few others.....

But if you are into sound design definitely.....It can do most anything.

sound design can be very subjective...Serum can do very capable sound design as well, I think you get to a point when it becomes overload. Omnisphere had a very convincing sound quality to it, does Falcon share that same sound quality?

Post

It's a powerhouse but I found the learning curve to be quite steep and the interface a bit cumbersome, both being barriers to my using it and the main reasons I sold it on. I could have saved myself the trouble if a demo of the synth engine at least was available to try. I had a similar experience with Omnisphere, got sucked in by the power and hype and took a chance because there was no demo and similarly sold it on because it just wasn't for me.
