Hello again!
Regarding:
As i already have ctrl++ / ctrl +- assigned for other tasks i will leave them at that
And the render thingy is mapped to B, which works fully as expected as far as i can tell after a very quick experiment!
Thanks a ton man, you are my hero dragon!
Now i can say at last that working with Reaper is fully self explanatory and i'm an expert!
(will print out the key assignment table though, just in case
)
Regarding:
lol, trying to assign these i found out that they are already pre-assigned factory wise to shift+9 and shift+0There are actions:
Item Properties: Pitch item down one semitone
Item Properties: Pitch item up one semitone
There are variants for cents and octaves too.
Bind them to whatever. Do note these are "on the fly" transpose actions, they don't physically move notes in MIDI items around. And they also work on audio items too! SWS extensions have explicit actions to transpose selected MIDI items by semitone or an octave. You should have SWS installed - everyone should
Quick bouncing of selection: "Track: Render selected area of tracks to stereo stem tracks (and mute originals)". You might not need the (and mute originals) part, I guess that could be sorted out with a custom action somehow. This of course renders with all FX applied. If you just need a quick copy of a time selection on a new track, doesn't Ctrl+drag of item within the time selection do that for you?.
Regarding .syx files - AFAIK Reaper doesn't read them directly, but you can convert them to .mid: https://www.bwalk.com.au/MidiUtil/FileConvert.html

You can also create buttons in the toolbar, map them to these actions, and you wouldn't need to remember anything.FapFilter wrote: Wed Sep 08, 2021 8:38 pm (will print out the key assignment table though, just in case)

True, but there would be quite a few and i like it clutterfree. The most common stuff you also won't forget that easily (even though i can't express how silly i feel that i didn't figure “B“ for bounce out in all this time )
The MIDI editor is the only place that received quite a few additional action buttons in addition to just key commands and mouse behavior anywhere else

Tip: Map a hotkey to the action "open/close toolbar #n". Then dump everything into that toolbar that feels kinda important to have but not common enough that you want to spend time memorising it. Keeps everything clutter free.FapFilter wrote: Wed Sep 08, 2021 10:05 pm True, but there would be quite a few and i like it clutterfree.

Indeed, it isn't for everyone, but it does have a kind of a wabi-sabi aesthetic you don't find much elsewhere.digitalboytn wrote: Tue Sep 07, 2021 7:11 pm The v1 theme is like engaging in some time travel...
That one really shows REAPER's Vegas roots...
I understand the attraction, but that one's just a little too spartan except for the most ardent of minimalists![]()

Remember too there's a default action just mapped to 'F' (no modifier) to show the Toolbar docker, I use that a lot to quickly access other toolbars.cantaloupe wrote: Wed Sep 08, 2021 10:46 pmTip: Map a hotkey to the action "open/close toolbar #n".
