Lost in the eurocracK hole.
Those system 100 modules are an incredible value, particularly for those starting down this path, and/or those who want that sound/approach, and even for a fairly well fleshed-out system.

{addendum: just saw the modular grid image... nice!} :tu:
yeah they do seem to be very nice, especially for the price.
between these, tiptop and doepfer alone, you could build a monster for bugger all outlay 8)
Indeed. ... (and the Dreadbox line)

I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

I did look at effects and stuff too, but I think for now I'm just going to use the expert sleepers audio outs to let me use my PC's DAW as a big effects pedal especially as I've got VCV Rack and Bitwig etc to provide extra sequencing, LFOs and general wackiness.

Good plan. That will help keep the investment 'sane'. ... (for the time being)

nice hybrid system, analog where it counts and digital is digital.
although of course, there are patch options you may miss.
but then you have other modules in digital too...

i went for fx as well, because i enjoy the idea of being away from the computer.
forgetting completely that to hear my monitors, i need to turn on the bloody computer and host :dog:

and i do now have midi in the rack, snuck in through the bloody 0coast :o
:ud:

And I thought I was grandad. You only just discovered midi?
Although it sounds like midi discovered you. They're watching y'know. :hihi:

i love effects, more than synths actually.

The rest of my kit arrived today, set it all up and vurt was right, even with about two dozen cables I still need more. The system 100 stuff sounds mint and I love how easy it is to pair up the Expert sleepers ES-3/6 with Bitwig, makes it a piece of piss. Even getting CV out of the modular and into VCV Rack VST and back again wasn't too bad even if it requires a mental image of how the real/virtual/real patch is actually put together.
Using the 960 sequencer to sequence three separate sets of filter cutoff is very nice and the 182 sequencer is cute how you can just switch through the number of steps though I feel it's missing CV control for the step length. Barely played with Brains yet, been having too much fun with the system 100 modules, but think it'll come into its own when I run it under DAW control for beats and things.
My head's a bit done in by all the gear I now own, think I really need to sit down and work out how to pare it down a little. Think I'm moving away from my "everything plugged in all the time" philosophy even if the Digiface has made that possible, in order to make things manageable think I need to move towards something where I just mix and match as and when I feel like it. Going to put up some shelves where things can be tidied away when I'm not using them.

course im right, you never have enough
i don't know how it works, but no matter how many cables you have, you will at some point reach for one to finish up the awesome patch! and there will be no cable :o

or worse, loads, but none long enough, that can even be swapped for another.

i think it's the universe, stepping in before we have "too much" fun.

I have had some fun though thankfully

You're filling holes faster than a porn star!

I need to order a Keystep but haven't ruled out the Pro yet, but I think the non-pro one will work just fine for what I want.

Bax shop was knocking out the 37 key for about £100. The Pro actually misses some features on the base 37 key version like the strum, which spaces out notes and pairs nicely with one finger chords.

I completely missed the chord/strum modes on the 37 key version.
What scares me about the pro version is that due to its size and capabilities (which are nice), I feel like it needs to be the central brain of everything. My current setup doesn't support the space for it, so it would just be awkward fitting all I want in one sitting.

I'll likely get the 37 version now... Too bad Bax-Shop only ships to the UK. That was going to be a great price assuming shipping would have been reasonable.

A set of Thunderbrown strings for my bass uke arrived... and I like them pretty well, except I have a borked tuning machine now. :bang: It's not turning far in either direction, and is wobbling loose in the headstock.

The instrument itself was $150. I've already spent about $100 on accessories and strings. Am I really going to spend $80 on a set of custom Hipshot tuners for it, because I can't find the cheap Chinese ones that everybody builds them with? :dog: no, I found a set of the cheap ones, all four for $15 instead of one for $20.

I've been listening to PolyBrute demos while I'm working today and, woah,... good thing I have no space left in my studio or I'd be a few thousand $$$ poorer. Wait, unless I knock out that closet, move that cabinet to the garage and put a desk there, and... hmmmmm....

I don't understand how I've ever lived without an LFO that can restart on a trigger. It's everything I've always wanted when trying to do New Order style pulsing riffs etc.
