I am really torn apart between these options (owning none atm)... perhaps I am tending a bit towards Silo...
If you had to choose one...which ones would you pick?
Perhaps I should mention I am looking more for not going too crazy on granular stuff... I am not really interested into the complete distruction of sound and weird blips and blops but leaving in some musicality... so perhaps a bit more towards creating drones...adding depth and sparkle...
But on the other hand I like to keep my options and better have a plugin which got several tricks under it´s sleeve...

I like Portal the best, but there is cost to consider. If you don't want to pay that much, Silo can be had between $15 and $25 with a sale and a voucher.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

I've got both and between the two have found it much easier to dial in musical results with Fragments where Silo provides more experimental sounds.

I’ve got Fragments and Portal. I like both of them, but I’m still new to Fragments. I tried to like Silo… I couldn’t get into it. It’s OK… I felt it needed polish.

I can wait for the sale. Where do I find a voucher?Dirtgrain wrote: Tue Mar 22, 2022 2:38 am...Silo can be had between $15 and $25 with a sale and a voucher.

I think Fragments tend to be more friendly & tamed, sound wise and in term of workflow as well. Very easy to use, almost hard to make it sounds bad.
Silo as some others mentioned, is probably a bit more experimental and abstract in term of results. (Less « musical » as some people like to say). That said, it’s not less powerful and personally I tend to like that experimental edge it has.
Portal is a very well rounded effect, not just a granulator. But very pricy. Most of the Portal users love it, I haven’t heard or read much complaint about it.
For the price VS your needs, I would consider probably Fragments first. On a plus side, Arturia is in fire these days with constant updates. I'm pretty sure we'll see a Fragments update in the near future.
Give both Silo and Fragments a try, they have trail versions.

It´s not possible atm time wise... I just try to get my head around for now... this is the way I function...
I first have to make my mind up and with a set mindset and some theoratical goals I can go afterwards and try stuff out when I got the time to do so...

Buy one in the sales thread or open a PA account and buy some plugins ... vouchers will follow. Make sure to sign up for the newsletter.

The monthly $25 voucher has been a generic code for the past few months, so just wait for it to go on sale. Won't be too long.UncleAge wrote: Wed Mar 23, 2022 12:12 amthecontrolcentre wrote: Wed Mar 23, 2022 12:07 amBuy one in the sales thread or open a PA account and buy some plugins ... vouchers will follow.![]()
