This must be how R&D at Korg started and then ended up making Wavestation and then Wavestate.

Saw Sleepytime Gorilla Museum once where they used a 16-mm movie projector to do something similar.

whne I was a kid my dad was Raytheon MGT...he bought me the best xmas present ever...electronic dominoes

each one had magnets to hold them together an one component.

you built the projects on what amounts to a cookie sheet...I got this around 4th or 5th grade, I even made a kind of theremin controlled by a photocell...as a kid that was indeed my favorite toy.

in fact this might be the theremin...that thing that looks like a face on the bottom I believe is the photocell...they called it an organ though.

found this...I guess this is still made but I cant find it yet
