I am trying to make a drum beat similar in this song. at about 1:13 you can hear it on full swing and i can't figure out how how to make this kick or snare. It almost sounds like the kick is the snare is just a different sound of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am using Fruity Loops

I'n not entirely sure what you mean. Is it just the kick and snare you're trying you get?
They're both fairly simple kicks and snares(clap in this case)

The kick hits and then the kick and clap hit together. I think that’s confusing you a bit, that’s why you say ‘it almost sounds like the kick is the snare’ that is the kick playing with the clap playing at the same time.

That’s the thing, we don’t know what they know or don’t know. Seems a very basic thing to say but someone starting out may not know that this is done. I wasn’t sure either, but it doesn’t hurt to break it down in case it helps, and no harm if not…

I can't replicate this to sound at least close to it. I think it's the kick and the shaker that make a huge difference.

you're overthinking it.
try a lot of samples and/or multiple samples and layer till you get something you like.

I think the biggest problem for me is not really having much of sound or (one shot) selection of drum samples. I am looking to get them but i have not been successful since any sample place i go to like loopmasters have most of the packs that have loops with very little one shots and i think that kills the full creativity of making a drum beat exactly how i want it to. I used to full around with music a long time ago and back then thee was a provider named Mutteki Media or something like that that had ton of just one shots. Not sure where to find a bundle of one shot samples.
