Or head to head with the hardware. That would be really interesting. :)
boombaxx wrote: Sat Aug 20, 2022 8:28 pm So anyone going to do a head to head with the Xils Synx2. I was seriously thinking about getting the Elka it would be nice to hear them back to back :phones:. One for the youtubers :borg:

That's how Synthex got prioritized the way it did! It was a Top 5 request. I wouldn't want to see this thread get turned into a wishlist, but I do keep a tally on requests and the entire team sees them on a regular basis. However I do not confirm/deny or reveal what's coming next, except in blatantly obvious teasers like the last ones :hihi:
If you’re happy to add to the list, Santa, I’d like an HH Slider Echo and a DSI Poly Evolver.

Are you safe?

It's perfectly normal, of course, because the fun is also in the surprise.
:D

I just point discretely the humble suggestion I did a few days ago (with the same nickname as here) in the comments below the teaser video you published in Youtube four or five days before the release of Elka-X. It was a suggestion about an old very popular synth made extremely famous by Klaus Schulze in two or three of his albums at the end of his first decade, a synth which was also from a famous Italian company, and which produced absolutely cosmic sounds.

Cheers!

Yes, the Synthorchestra, I believe. My notes are in the studio but I occasionally have a good memory!

I suppose I should have noted one caveat above, though. In order to do an emulation, the hardware does have to be somewhat obtainium! Or already in Dan’s collection. I once got a request for a synth for which only 20 were made, in the 70s, IIRC.

Oh, and no hardware that’s currently new and on the market. I have no idea why people ask us to do the Moog One. No. Just no.

The Synthex was not used on that album but the Synthex/Elka-X is powerfull enough for these kinds of analogish sounds.

Ha Ha ! Of course. Yes, it is crazy to ask for emulations of hardwares currently on the market.
:D

Especially when the aim is to recall the dream time of the old 70's/80's analog synths.

It's true that an awesome vintage perc is cruelly missing in CA's catalog.

Clearly the responsible thing to do is to publish a list of Dan's collection. Preferably with photos. There's only so much you can make out on a Zoom call... ;)

Is the Galactic reverb based on the Airwindows Galactic Reverb?

I would rather say that it doesn't come from any particular hardware reverb.
