The Specials helped to define my youthful musical tastes.

Enjoy yourself, it’s later than you think.

RIP.

In maybe seventh or eighth grade, Derek had lent Ghost Town to David. David then loaned it to me. I swear I gave it back, but it seemed to have disappeared. What a cool album, and so was their other music. Over the years, it has played back in my mind so many times.

Not only was I a fan of The Specials, but the band I played in covered them as well. RIP Terry. I know your good friend Gwen Stefani is crying her heart out.

Always remember on Top Of The Pops when all the other acts were putting on cheesy rictus grins, El Tel without fail had the most marvellous deadpan face.

Could sing a bit too..

1st LP was one of the first albums (well, tapes) I owned. RIP.

Damn. A giant; loved everything I ever heard from him, from The Specials, to his Eurovision cover with Sinead.

RIP Terry.

Too Much Too Young

I always thought he was the best whiney voice in pop music. Whiney in a very good way. He doesn't seem old enough to be dying ( which probably also means I'm getting way older than I think I am  )
